Westside Tigawok in Sawtelle

Post image

i had the tiga cola chicken, crispy chili pork, broccoli, cabbage, and some rice and a iced tea. for the price this was a delicious meal, each bowl is 2.50-5$. they have this wagyu spicy salsa and it was so good, i added that to almost all of my bowls, if you like spice you will enjoy it. the crispy chilli pork was the only item i thought was mid because it was pretty dry. i paid 23$ for this with tip.

I’ve ordered delivery from them - they’re not bad at all. Was pleasantly surprised.

Yeah it’s not gonna blow your mind but it’s satisfying enough.

Went to the one in Burbank just last week. Spicy beef and their noodles were great. Definitely will opt for this over Panda.

Not mind blowing but for the price, it’s a pretty good deal.

I do think some things tend to be a bit … sweet but considering each portion is fairly cheap, I think it’s worth trying a few different options

This is the place with the robots right?

It’s just a rotating cooktop. Calling them robots is really a reach

It turns the food and dispenses ingredients replacing work a human would do with greater consistency, sure sounds like a robot

Price looks fair. Is this Americanized Chinese food?

No it’s not. They have dishes like tomato egg and mapo tofu.

I'd say they took Chinese dishes, and kind of americanized them. Its not panda, but it's like somewhere between SGV Chinese food and Panda. I like tiga, but it's a bit greasy for me.

Naw it’s just a fast food take on Chinese food as Panda is a fast food take on actual Chinese American food.

SGV?

No. It’s authentic Chinese, at least it was when I went. Price is comparable to panda and it’s much healthier (less sweet and sugary). Definitely prefer Tigawok to panda as a Chinese

It’s Mainland Chinese food mainly with a few dishes that are more American-Chinese inspired like cola chicken.

it's Chinese dishes adjusted to American taste buds, if that makes sense

Ehh, I went over two weeks ago. Everything was sweet, even the chow mein. Orange chicken was dry. Nothing to write home about. I’d stick to Panda right next door.

The vibe inside Tigawok is like if AI made an hedge fund operation restaurant.

it reminded me of asian cafeterias and i thought the employees were really nice

It sort of feels like the cafeteria of a tech company

I just wish there was some way for them to waste more plastic.

I found the prices to be good, but the food to be sub par. If im going to spend money on food, I find somewhere to make it really count.

This looks way better than the last time I was there. I may go back and try again.
