Daphne Does Dinner
DDDis one of my favorite episodes.
Random fun question…
After being told he is not throwing the party, Frasier says to Niles “you have my phone number”
To which Niles says “#3 on our speed dial”
Assuming that #1 is 911…who is number #2, ahead of Frasier?

The ending to this is one of my favorites. Frasier with his arm around Daphne telling her she's officially a Crane now and she just breaks down into tears. Such a great episode.

I always assumed the first two numbers were their cellphones. Why would it be 911? They already have that memorized and it would be too easy to accidentally dial it.

I love this episode. Daphne trembling as Frasier emerges, enraged, from the closet was fantastic.

"YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN HERE!" and Niles doing some sort of shuffling backward fall is the best.

It's my favorite kind of Frasier episode, like the inn keepers.or ham radio. The chaos just builds and builds with people who try hard to control their ethics and behavior.
My favourite part is when Niles discovers Frasier hiding inside the cupboard.
Daphne: Don't open that door!
Niles opens the door again, and Daphne closes it again.
Niles: Stop that, I already saw him
Frasiers expression is hilarious as the doors open again. But it's difficult to understand what he is supposed to be feeling at that point. He looks as if he doesn't care anymore.

I love the bit where Niles says "Stop that, I already saw him", the delivery is insanely funny. Perfection

The episode is from 2003 and thus the speed dial thing is Niles is likely referring to a home landline.
Therefore #1 and #2 are probably Niles and Daphne’s respective cellular phones.

100% agree. Niles and Daphne would know their own phone numbers off by heart but not each others. And ‘our’ speed dial means it’s the home phone (landline).

1 is probably Daphne’s family and 2 might be their family doctor.

#1. Is likely each other, reciprocally
#2. Niles: His Service, Daphne: Martin
#3. Frasier (for both)

Why would 911 be a speed dial choice? I assume #1 would be Daphne's mobile, #2 might be Chez Henri and then Frasier. Surely?
I wouldn't put my own mobile phone number on my speed dial because I know it by heart. Niles might memorise Daphne's by heart too I suppose. So in that case it might be the number of the squash club so as to book courts more easily (#1 position), then Chez Henri or another favoured restaurant if this ep is after Chez Henri burns down (goes out of business? Can't quite remember), as above, then Frasier.
Don't think I ever saw Martin with a mobile in the entire run, so I assume he just used the landline like many others of his generation.

I mean I assume 1 and 2 are their own mobile numbers so they can reach each other. Frasier should be happy he is 3rd!

I love that episode. Probably my favorite. The opening is hilarious and perfectly sets up the entire episode.
'Dinner at the Cranes. Already in progress.'...
* SLAP*
Frasier: "Mimsy wait! ..
Mimsy: "Oh don't even bother! And I bet you don't even have Tourette's syndrome."
Frasier: "Poop! Damn!"
And by the end, "Daphne, Congratulations, You're now officially a Crane."

I say Martin. She was still his healthcare worker & Niles would have wanted him up there due to Martin’s age.
Daphne’s mom was the best in this episode! It was so rare to see women(outside of Golden Girls) still out there flirting and being sexy! My grandmother loved this one.
