This was about 12 years ago. He suffered serious injuries to his head and spine, but amazingly didn't have permanent effects. At the time he wrestled as "Charade", now he's "Zenshi" and according to Cagematch last wrestled in April

My favorite part of wrestling is dumb ass prop referee. Like they are really only there to tap the mat three times. That’s it. That’s their whole job. But they can’t just stand there the whole time so they are always counting to ten.
But if they get to ten they just have to count longer because disqualification isn’t in the script.
