Tldr: For the foreseeable future, any post containing an official Garfield comic will be removed due to the potential for copyright claims from GoComics. We’re trying to get ahead of the subreddit getting shut down and accounts getting banned. Also looking for new mods.

See below link, it seems GoComics is submitting copyright claims for comics they have online distribution rights over. The C&H sub’s been closed (as is The Far Side sub, although GoComics only sells their prints), so we’re taking preventative action by blocking all official comic posts. It’s possible that this is just an automated mistake of some kind, but we’ll have to see if there’s any updates and be certain we’re safe before the rule is lifted.

Discussions, drawings, parodies, merch posts, etc. will still be allowed for now, assuming those don’t get any kind of copyright claims.
We know this sucks, it’s not ideal for a sub dedicated to Garfield to ban Garfield comics, but we don’t want any of your accounts banned or the sub shut down. Please report any official comic posts. If you want to read official Garfield comics, please visit the GoComics website in the sidebar.

We’ve been looking to add some new mods and now seems like a good time. If you have a passion for Garfield and are interested in helping out around here, shoot us a modmail and we’ll get back to you.
🧡

Hi,
We have a Discord now. The community voted to keep the /r/place organization Discord we set up, and we converted it to our official Discord.

He definitely felt more Gromit esque and certainly not dumb. Also, is Harvey Guillen just gonna be typecasted as animated dog sidekicks?

Found this old notepad; thought it was designed by Hugo Boss at first. Still funny, either way.

For example, there's this storybook called "Garfield's Picnic Adventure", which features an exclusive character called Jessie, who falls into this trope.
This sort of thing should happen more often.

I was watching the U.S.Acres episode called "Mystery Guest" and at the part when Roy referenced the California Raisins and the Smurfs in his song, they're shown in silhouette...but I remember watching the show when it originally aired on CBS and both the C.R. and the Smurf were shown in full.
I did some research and lo and behold, I was right.
The pics I included will speak for themselves.

I'm looking for a Garfield book that I read as a kid in the 90s. There was a color comic scene where he smashed a giant spider with a book and the spider's eyeballs and guts were coming out from under the book. Very detailed. I think the spider was stalking him inside the house and that's maybe how the story ends.
I thought it was a halloween book but I'm not sure, I picked up "garfield in disguise" which is a halloween comic book and it's not in there. I've googled some but it only comes up with the other b&w strips where he is smashing spiders and not that one specifically. Hopefully, one of you knows what I'm talking about! Thanks

I just got given an original Garfield phone as a present I was also given a cell2jack to connect to it to use my cell phone calls. All is well apart from the phone doesn’t ring I’m able to pick up the phone hear and speak etc I’ve troubleshooted completely on the cell2jack end and it still doesn’t work. I’m wondering if anyone knows how to troubleshoot the phone itself and if there’s something I could do to the actual phone by taking it apart to get it to ring

This comic was in my local paper’s recent Sunday funnies section. I nearly died laughing when I realized Garfield likely killed a kid AND stole his ice cream. Just thought I should share this gem.
