Question beginner winter camping locations
as someone who is familiar with camping in colder summers due to growing up in the north, im looking to experience winter camping in the mountains after the second week of december.
im open to any range of amenities and would like to be somewhere campfires are permitted. my activities during my trip would included but not be limited to hiking, reading, and painting (open to suggestions especially for novel activities available).
are there any state parks with plenty of hiking and scenic views youve been to? would love to hear of your experience, suggestions, and cherished moments !

Vogel stste psrk is close to a section of the beginning of the Appalachian Trail. You can hike up to Blood Mountain.

Vogel state park. Regular campsites or primitive. Good hiking in the park and several AT trailheads and waterfall hikes in the area.
