Question Swimming spots near Dalton or Calhoun?

Hey y’all,

I’m not very familiar with the area but I wanted to know if there were any swimming spots near Dalton or Calhoun, especially swimming along the Oostanaula River.

Thanks!

It's a little nasty by the Oostanaula. Try the pocket at John's mountain, or holly creek in the cohuttas. You're looking for crystal clear mountain water that isn't tainted by farm runoff and whatever the carpet mills have dumped

try snorkeling in the Conasauga River. It’s an amazing amount of fish in there

Anything that involves snorkeling without sharks sounds great!

I think you're looking for Resaca Beach!

Thank you! Do you happen to have coordinates?

First you’re going to need a time machine, go back to the 1990s and it is right off either Hwy 41 or 136. I’m honestly afraid there’s a Dennys in your way or something industrial.

Maybe Rocky Mountain Recreation Area in Texas Valley. It’s not in the river but it’s a nice big lake with a beach area.

I'd skip the Oostanaula if I were you. Carter's lake is nearby and much cleaner. Simple parking fee and you've got access to a beautiful spot to swim and picnic.
