Welcome! This subreddit is for one thing: finding a 1-on-1 accountability partner to build better habits in real life.

To keep things helpful and focused, we’ve moved to a one-strike ban policy. There’s been a big wave of off-topic and low-effort posts — and that takes away from what makes this community work.

The main focus is on skill-building and execution, not just chat. We'll hold each other accountable to actually put in the work.

You're a good fit if you:

· Are actively working on at least 1 skill outside of your job/studies (coding, design, a language, a business, etc.). · Can commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week on your goals. · Are between 18-25 (so we're all in a similar life stage). · Value self-improvement (reading books is a great plus!).

Life 41M | MST | work/life balance, fitness, lifestyle (life experience preferred!)

Well, definitely humbling being on here and looking for help - especially given the wide gamut of things I’d like to improve.

It’s a little overwhelming trying to list everything that I want to work on.

• ⁠get back into fitness

• ⁠fix some lifestyle habits (I’ll share after we connect)

• ⁠progress career while maintaining some semblance of work life balance.

I have ADHD, and the past few years, things seem to really have gotten off the rails. Work is taking up a ton of space and energy in my life, and everything else is suffering. I probably need to prioritize and focus on one or two things - let’s chat about it!

I’d prefer someone who is closer to my age, maybe seen the ups and downs that can derail good intentions, and understands the responsibilities that can start to accumulate with age. It is only a preference.

Life 22M | IST | Screentime, Sleep Schedule, Study & Daily Routine AP

Hi, Basically I'm preparing full-time for UPSC CSE, screentime distraction is an issue for me, it's more of a coping mechanism, a vicious cycle.

It's been years, I have tried many things (in isolation). Nothing seemed to have worked, including parental controls on screentime. I suspect ADHD too.

What I'll be working on : 1. Limiting Screentime, especially mindless scrolls. 2. Fixing sleep schedule. (Looking to wake up at 5/6 AM, check-ins would be good) 3. Studying at least 6 hours daily, with specific and pre-informed targets. 4. To have a more organised and constant daily routine, to prevent the day from being a mess. 5. To eat healthy and to fix my daily nutritional intakes, like taking more proteins and limiting carbs, etc. I'm not much into physical exercises.

Preferences for AP : 1. IST 2. Having highly similar goals. 3. 21 or older only, no kids. Any gender. 4. Honest and non ghosting one. I'd prefer a 30 days no ghosting agreement, but if you wanna leave, just say it. (Have been ghosted before by multiple APs) 5. Seriousness needed. (Last AP repeatedly broke her sleep schedule to watch concerts)

We'll be using HabitNow or other apps to track habits over time. Check-ins for wake up, etc.

We can discuss more in DM.

I'm interested to do it as a 30/60 day challenge or something similar.

Make sure to tell ur Age, Gender and basic background and what you're trying to be accountable for and what your academic or other life goals are.

You can be from different academic backgrounds etc, but I need someone who's working on similar things as me.

We can and will be good friends too, of course. Supporting and motivating each other at lows, and constantly pushing towards betterment.

I just need a serious and reliable person.

I really struggle with motivating myself unless I have someone who keeps up with me and checks in on me daily. I’d hope this person would hit me up once throughout the day asking if I went to the gym already. And if I say no checking in another time during the day and that’s about it :) it would be so helpful because I’m currently in a pretty bad depressive episode but being lazy/the weight gain is literally just making it so much worse. Life 28M | IST | working professional who is trying to not ruin their life.

As in title. I'm basically stressed and have led a predominantly sedentary lifestyle since the past 5 years and I need to get rid of it. I have tried building a routine but I'm having problems with the consistency bit. The unfortunate part is that rn with the stress of the corporate slavery I'm bridging the gap with alcohol, which since I started living alone is not great for me. I feel my dependence increasing and I'm taking steps towards getting rid of the habit. I need someone to make me feel more accountable towards my goals. I need to be in contact with someone that will check in regularly and will ensure that I'm not drinking myself to sleep/am doing my workouts for the day.(Sad as It is)

I can be a good listener and a good advisor, I just don't take my own advice. So I can probable help with life coaching or even helping you achieve your own AP goals. I do tend to listen to female counterparts but it's not a restriction, so no biggie, just brownie points ig. All our interactions can go through a decent amount of verification/small talk to make both of us comfortable.

Tl;dr- unfit and drunk, trying to get out of it but need someone to keep me consistent. Can be a 2 way accountability buddy, would require daily check in. Preferably female, but no reservations. All interactions will be precluded with appropriate age/identity verification and appropriate small talk.

Hi! I’m currently working on getting a healthier sleep rhythm and making my mornings more productive. My goal is to be in bed by 10 PM and up by 8 AM at the latest. Health & Fitness F21 | CST | Work out at the same time

I've been trying to work out more consistently, but when given the option of either sitting here or working out, I've been finding it really hard to pick the latter. I personally have the easiest (and best) time getting myself to work out when I put on a movie, and then I just exercise for the movie's runtime. Looking for someone who would be willing to join me! Age, gender, or timezone don't bother me all that much, as long as I'm getting it done I'm happy. I'd be willing to watch most movies, but I'm especially partial to horrors, dramas, or comedies. For a better idea, the most recent ones I've watched are Sinners, Bottoms, and Parasite, but I'm honestly easily entertained so I would enjoy most movies :P. I'd also be open to starting a show if that makes it easier!

I'd be able to screenshare the movie over discord, or we could also just watch it at the same time on our separate devices, whichever you'd prefer. In terms of picking movies, I'd assume we'd go every other, but if you insist (and you pick good movies lol,) I wouldn't mind if you picked most of them. I think I'm pretty easygoing!

We don't need to talk during the movie or anything, the most I'd ask is casual "wow fun movie' etc afterwards, but even that is negotiable. I mostly just need to know that someone else is doing it at the same time as me to keep me on track.

I work ~8-5 CST weekdays, so I'm free most days after 5 and all day on the weekend barring any plans. Hoping to do this a few times a week, would be willing to work out a more rigid schedule if you prefer that.

Life 27F | CET| Trying to rebuild simple daily habits, study and use my phone less

Hi! I’m looking for someone to be accountability partners as I work on rebuilding my daily routines and motivation. I’ve gone through a difficult period and I’m now working on getting back on track.

I’m starting from small but important steps — things like doing chores, checking emails, studying everyday, going to bed without my phone. At the moment, staying consistent can be a challenge for me, so having external accountability would really help. I'd like to add light exercise down the line too but I sprained my ankle two days ago so that will have to wait at least about two weeks, I think.

I’m thinking of check-ins (only written messages, no calls) every day or every other day at least for the first two weeks and then, later, we could just cut it to once or twice a week , ideally for about 3 months (just because I've heard it takes 90 days to build a lifestyle), but even a much shorter commitment would still be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I’m a 29F (IST but flexible) working on my university thesis with a tight deadline. I have ADHD and anxiety, and I’m trying to push through and stay consistent. I’d love to find a one-on-one buddy to keep each other focused and motivated.

What I’m looking for:

  • Pomodoro sessions (start with 25 mins, then longer once we’re in flow)
  • Daily target sharing & check-ins

Any task, project or work requires a good starting point to bring in the flow and continue with it. I have a problem with starting my workflow, how do I bring enough focus, strength and determination to start studying for the day? Any tips would be appreciated! Also, I have been demotivated for a long time, I don't know how to bring the motivation back, prepping for CAT now. I'm a Btech graduate with 20 months work ex, and I've resigned to give my full focus on CAT. I know internal motivation is highly important for starting, that is something I'm unable to bring out and I continue procrastinating. Would be helpful if we can study together on gmeet or zoom!

I require a study buddy, to have virtual study sessions with on gmeet or zoom. Someone who's in the same condition as me and is quite active. If they can motivate me, when I get distracted that'd be helpful and I can do the same for them. We don't have to be studying the same subject on gmeet or zoom, we can have individual studying with the online presence.

Hey everyone,

I'd be looking for someone (any gender and age 18+, really) who'd like to share personal to-do lists with each other and then tick off items to show our progress. The tasks could be vague when related to something private, and we could share our to-do lists as Discord messages or something else similarly simple.

It may sound silly, but I find it hard to complete things when it's just me doing it. I'm thinking that maybe by being able to show someone else how much I get done, this would feel like I'm doing things as a group effort (to help keep the other person motivated), more so than doing it alone.

Personally, I'm employed full-time and have my own clients on top. Many of my to-do tasks will likely be related to my work, but I also have other things I need some extra push for (as an ADHDer, this is often simple things like just cleaning up my kitchen etc.).

So, you could really be in any life situation! Let's grow together and look back at how small of tasks we started with and build up from there!
