Nice pictures! Everytime I see the Parthenon, it looks more put together as if the restoration is improved in the last 10 years! Damn Brits won’t give back the rest of the portico. (Elgin Marbles) Ahh Porto Katsiki! I want to make time this year before I go to Naples.

they are still building it after 2000+ years... imagine the hole in the budget. slow work..

Ottomans used as a gunpowder storage and brits stole from it its building is restoring and preserving

Wasn't the original build something like 30 years 😬 without modern equipment 🤐

2

u/hopefullpesimist Jul 19 '25

Porto katsiki

Incredible - where/what area would you recommend staying in lefkada? it looks like these beaches are far from where I'm seeing the highest amount of airbnb options

Thank you for the great pics. Could you please tell us where the pics are from? I mean some are obvious, but nevertheless.

If you don't mind, I have another question? How was Poros? How does it compare to Aegina (if you stayed in Aegina)?

1

u/Cheesycatbiscuit Jul 19 '25

There was definitely more to see in Poros compared to Aegina… but I can’t talk about Aegina that much because it was just a day trip compared to my 10 day stay in Poros (my plan was to go around the Saronic Islands from there)

Parga looks incredible

Incredible. What was your favorite part of the trip?

1

u/Cheesycatbiscuit Jul 19 '25

The island hopping tour from Nidri was the highlight for me!

Loved that beach and the little side of the road food truck on the way

I loved poros! We stayed in galatas and then water taxied back and forth, then went to hydra in addition to Athens. Just returned!

1

u/Cheesycatbiscuit Jul 21 '25

I didn’t get to visit galatas but the water ferries/taxis are so cute! Hope you had a good time as well

Greece looks like a dream, and you hit such a perfect mix of popular and lesser-known spots. Spetses and Parga aren’t on most people’s radar, how did you choose them?

Awesome pictures ! Going to parga in oct so would like to hear your thoughts on it ?

2

u/Cheesycatbiscuit Jul 23 '25

I loved it! I just stayed around the beach area tho and didn’t really get to go around. I def want to come back to Parga one day

2

u/slotkalolitka Jul 23 '25

1

u/Cheesycatbiscuit Jul 23 '25

Trust me i was dying too!! 🤣

Would love any advice for Poros. Thinking of doing a day trip from Hydra. Did you do a boat tour there or have any beach clubs to recommend?

Thala...Sea Beach Bar-Restaurant

https://g.co/kgs/etToAsB

I stayed here on most of my beach days. I loved the food, people, and atmosphere

I didn’t do a boat tour but I stayed for 10 days

2

u/luxelife441 Jul 25 '25

is it close to the port? should i make reservation?

2

u/Cheesycatbiscuit Jul 25 '25

Id say it’s like a 10 minute drive from the port and I didn’t do reservations but they get busy

2

u/luxelife441 Jul 25 '25

Im going to try to make a reservation today. So I can get my ferry ticket

1

u/Cheesycatbiscuit Jul 25 '25

I hope you have a good time as well! Enjoy Poros :)
