Hi everyone, I have two handguns with an overtravel trigger screw: a CZ Shadow 2 SAO (with a modified trigger) and a Phoenix Drake Standard. I’d like to adjust the overtravel screw on both, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do it. From what I’ve read, they’re usually set with red Loctite, which means they need to be heated to loosen. I first tried using a butane lighter, but it didn’t help. Today I bought a small soldering iron that heats up to around 968°F (520°C) and applied it directly to the screw for 10 minutes, then 1 hour but it still wouldn’t budge. At this point, I’m not sure what else to try. Has anyone here run into the same issue with an overtravel screw?

So just got this from ftf. Ordered the trigger cut out. Anyone know any tips cutting the magwell out (and trigger if they dont fix). Or someplace with a 380 weld kit in stock? I might go that way. Thanks

Does anyone know a builder who can do a Vz58 build? I tried CW Gunwerks and they said they don’t do that work.

I bought a 2-stage Timney trigger for a bergart R700 action build but when I pulled it out I realized it looks like they aren’t designed for eachother… granted it’s my first build so maybe I’m just overthinking… I don’t have my chassis yet, but don’t want to try and complete the installation if it’s the wrong trigger… there’s no bar for the catch…?

I just locked my slide back and noticed how the barrel moves very freely. You can pull it up and down and also forward and backwards a good amount a space. I just took it apart but how can I fix this barrel issue. Or is it even something to be worried about.

I’m looking at building a 7mm using a howa 1500 barreled action and am wanting to throw it in the XLR chassis. Was wondering if anyone else had done this and knew of any issues/had any recommendations? I read that the MDT chassis didn’t fit it and needed a little work to make it happen.

Use case is for backcountry hunting.

Interesting design with the quick change barrel. Not sure what thats all about.

This kit was in terrible shape. decent sized gaps, but the shroud was cracked between many of the holes, banana shaped, and much of the steel is pitted as if it was picked up from a battlefield and refinished/rebuilt at some point. Internals are nice though.

Still needs a few hours of grinding, polishing, and finishing.

What's the general consensus on reaming the barrel pin channel on a G3/CETME C to an even 5mm and using an oversized pin vs reaming in 4.97ish mm and using a standard 5mm pin?

I'm starting a build soon, and it seems a lot easier to find 5mm reamers inexpensively compared to the latter option.

Im getting ready to build my first 1911, and want to put a very nice high polish black finish on it in the end. Looking for any suggestions.
