Except when you are a police officer and supposedly held to a code of conduct higher than throwing haymakers because a drunk girl slightly brushed your head.
He didn’t throw the first slap. Officers react with equal force. Her being drunk doesn’t offer any protection, that was her choice to make and lowered her inhibition. Pop quiz: If you slap a cop, what do you think is going to happen? (Doesn’t matter how much you’ve had to drink).
The math is simple: Hit a cop = you will be hit back. Don’t like it? Don’t get shit faced drunk in public and hit a cop. If you don’t do that, I guarantee a cop won’t just randomly come to you and hit you.
Slap for a slap is what I meant, clearly. Even then, she hit him twice. He just didn’t feel nor react to the first. To me, it seemed as if she would have just kept hitting him. He does not have to just take that abuse, absolutely not.
She either missed the 1st time or it was so insignicant a slap that the officers head didn't even move an inch. The second was barely more significant. You're comparing that to a slap that hit the woman so hard, at height, that if the other officers didn't catch her she was falling headfirst onto concrete floor or into that bannister immediately behind her. It very quickly becomes a different kind of gif.
Would you explain to her family why putting her in a a wheelchair or killing her outright was justifiable because she totally kind of forcefully rubbed the side of a policeman's head?
Yeah I agree it's assault, but that's a crime that's handled in a court of law at a later time. No police officer should ever be hitting a member of the public unless they pose a significant risk to those around them. Contrary to the belief of some, being drunk in public and throwing half slaps while being carried out does not make you a risk to the public.

And that is your call to make because...?
If you’re drunk in public, and you strike an officer you’re in the wrong. Period. You’re attempting to justify why it’s okay for her to smack an officer of the law, twice!! He, legally, could have tased her for resisting arrest. Would you have preferred that? We have no clue what happened before this video started. She’s clearly being thrown out, what’s to say she wasn’t punching a bunch of other random people around? She’s clearly drunk, combative and has no issue hitting cops. What’s to say poor little Timmy didn’t get a smack before the cops got there to drag her out?
Why is it always the first Instinct on Reddit to go after cops. Instead of, you know, the criminals. And yes, she’s a criminal for assaulting an officer (and probably others before they even got there).
You are asking me why i think a weak ass slap to the head by a drunk women being carried out by the police isn't cause to beleive she's a threat to the public? I'm kind of stunned, but okay -
1) She's being carried out
2) She's inebriated and outnumbered four to one
3) I suspect that officer will make a full recovery from that horrific backhanded caress
No one doubts she was in the wrong - this is about it not being justification to risk killing her.
She missed the slap, then she backhanded him with her fist (and his head reacted to the force). She would have kept hitting him, 100%. She was being combative. How do you know she wasn’t punching others in the crowd, which is what caused her to be ejected from the stadium in the first place? She was clearly a threat to the public, which is why she was being carried out. He got punched, and reacted in kind. Would you feel different if it was a man?
Being a cop doesn't mean you forfeit your right to self defense. And you may not know this but cops are under no legal obligation to protect you. Their job is to enforce laws, not eat slaps and punches.
I post in /r/Politics as well. I didn’t vote for Trump, as I’ve stated many times. What does that even have to do with anything? I certainly don’t condone beating up police officers, which is what that woman was doing.
SMH. Do you think this woman was beating up cops? She half slapped one (singular), who is 3x her size, to no effect. You're talking like we just watched the final scene of Reservoir Dogs.
You post in /r/politics exclusively to defend Trump, talking abou how he's going to make america great again. That sure proves that you aren't a dump trump supporting biggot! ;)
I voted for Bernie. You’re reading comprehension is laughable. Any defense I give to Trump is simply me asking for proof of all this Russian collision. I would be first in line to impeach him when the smoking gun is released. But it hasn’t yet has it?
Normalization and acceptance of this behavior is the only reason it still exists. This is excessive and wrong and his badge doesn't give him a right to do this
I would love to see you be a cop for one day and let me know how your opinion changes. The public just thinks it’s so easy. As if everyone makes life so easy on them. 98% of these videos boil down to “do what the officers say, and there won’t be any issues.”
She’s clearly being kicked out for a reason. Was resisting it and striking officers in the process. She is the one 100% in the wrong. If she would have just taken her banishment and walked out, there would be no issue. Again, she laid hands on the officer first and that’s no okay. She was resisting arrest and legally could have been tazed. Would you have preferred that?
Being a tax paying citizen means that my criticism is completely justified. I don't have to step into their shoes to be justified in what I said. If you think this use of excessive force is okay, don't ever complain when it's their boot on your neck with the idea that they are above reproach. I am in no way justifying her behavior but she would pay for that in fines and jail time and lost opportunity after being judged and sentenced in a system designed to exact justice fairly. Stepping beyond that realm and using an unnecessary amount of force is completely unjustified and if you weren't so brainwashed into believing police action is beyond criticism, you would see why. If you mean to make an argument that "he is only human" than you likely recognize this as excessive. If antthing, he should be scrutinized even more stringently because he, as a human and fellow citizen, has that power in his hands.
Police use a one plus one force theory. You hit a cop, that cop now has the right to hit you, taze you, baton you. Whatever they need to do to get that person to stop being threatening or violent.
You're actively beating the shit out of a cop? You're gonna get shot. You swing a bat at a cop? He now has a right to shoot you.
Even if that was remotely close to how the force plus one mindset works, it's still a ridiculous amplification of the woman's actions. She lightly backhanded a police officer while being carried away, he responded by knocking her seemingly unconscious and if it wasn't for the actions of his colleagues driving her headfirst into concrete. That's not plus one.
You can't convince me that the police officer was right to punch a restrained woman in the face. I'm trying to restrain myself from calling people that think thats okay and hide behind a horrible understanding of police rulebooks the pieces of shit I beleive they are, but my patience is being tested.
