American conservatives drool over this kind of shit. They love it.

As a moderate it's blind shit-talking like this that drives me crazy. This is so far from the realm of politics. You're part of the partisan problem.

The problem is republicans. Not partisanship.

Like I said, I'm a moderate. Dialogue like yours drive people away from your party. Good on you.

No it doesn't. If you're as politically smart as you claim to be you'd understand that the dialogue of the general public does not directly reflect the working practices of a political party.

If you're making your political decisions based off an anonymous Reddit thread, I would recommend that you seek some other sources—and quick.

Good god man, let's ease up on the personal attacks. I never claimed to be so politically smart, nor do I use anonymous Reddit threads to inform my view. I'm just giving that man/woman my opinion to tone down the partisan shit talking. I think it could help us all out.

Also, I'm not sure what your point is, do you agree with the guy above or are you telling me to write him off as an anomaly?

This wasn't a personal attack at all. You said that the above poster was making people change parties, I said that's unrealistic and a poor way to choose your candidate of choice.

I know you don't actually do it, but you just said that you did.

People often say this thing: "you telling not to be [x] is only making me more [x]!" And I think it's childish.

Not candidate of choice, party of choice.

You didn't answer my question, do you agree with the guy above when he said:

American conservatives drool over this kind of shit. They love it. The problem is republicans. Not partisanship.

Both of which are wildly absurd statements

Some people from various nationalities and of differing political opinions have been known to celebrate causes that aren't that beneficial to society.

When someone criticises a policy I like it doesn't make me like it more to spite them, it makes me want to discuss why I think it's helpful to more people to implement it.

I have no idea where you first sentence about nationalities is coming from.

Also, the guy's not criticizing a policy. He's making inflammatory statements. If we can't agree on that then I don't know what to say.

Because you asked me whether I agreed if American conservatives do this or that. It doesn't matter if they're American or if they're conservative, saying "you not liking this thing is only making me like it more" is, in my opinion, silly. Whether the thing is American or conservative or both or neither.

I did not say, "you not liking this thing is only making me like it more". What I said was more, "you making outlandish claims against the other half makes me not want to associate with you", and it goes both ways.

I'd be careful to associate with a party that claims literally half of Americans 'drool' over police violence.

You're trying to build this weird, one-size-fits-all argument using nationalities, policies, etc... that frankly doesn't fit.

I guess I assumed that when you said

Dialogue like yours drive people away from your party.

You also meant yourself in "people." If you didn't mean it affected your opinion as well, and you were just expressing concern that the original poster's party would attract fewer people because of this... okay, I guess. But I don't get why it's such a big deal, then.
