It's just sad because people are doing just that even though it's not the other way around.

It's almost like it doesn't make a difference, but could you imagine if it was a man that hit a woman and she hit back? :P

That's the real switch here. But the amount of force is important.

If a drunk Bill Gates drunk-slapped Dilma Roussef and she knocked him out with a punch to the face, I think it would still be seen as disproportionate from her and people would condemn Dilma's response. Or maybe not.
