Plan Choice Suggestions What can regular Americans who are fed up with their health insurance do about it?

I’ve written my elected officials in government. What else can we do? It’s depressing and it’s wrong. That people can’t get healthcare easily and affordably. People are dying early because they don’t get the care they need.

You really don't understand cancer treatment at all. You really don't understand chronic illnesses or disability at all. Even if prices plummeted 50% the majority of people could not pay for that type of treatment.

Idk, somehow in Asia this work, lots of other countries that don’t use health insurance. But…if you’re too poor you just can’t get treatment, that’s 100% true. But middle class can access and it’s relatively affordable.

No true. My wife’s sister is a doctor in Vietnam. In india I think they have a public system that is Free (at least on paper) but a lot of people use private doctors because they don’t trust the public system. I think (on paper) several of those countries do have public systems but they are small and underfunded.

So, it is true then, they have public systems.

That public system and lack of health insurance companies is what allows private prices to be so low.

You could also say then the US has a free public system, which is federal qualified health centers and also Medicaid for low income and disabled.

That's true, but we also have a bloated health insurance problem not seen in other countries.

Yes, most people here use private insurance. Medicaid pays for private care.

Yes. I'm aware. Medicaid covers a very small portion of the very poorest people though, it's not like it covers the majority of the population. And I'm willing to bet your private insurance companies don't make the insane profits they do here.

Over 1/3 of what we pay for Healthcare is siphoned up by health insurance.

Nearly 100 million Americans are on Medicaid.

It’s not really free. They usually have a sliding scale. Like anything else, they need money to pay bills. Medicaid is just one of the insurance payers. Without insurance you may still only be able to access the most basic services.

What middle class? Who can access health care for a chronic illness like cancer on a cash basis in the US? First of all the middle class is dying, secondly are you seriously this delusional that you think if someone is lucky enough to still be considered middle class that they can afford cancer treatments out of pocket?
