Discussion r/Hearthstone's favorites Day 5: Most Balanced Class

Post image
130 Upvotes

I was fully expecting the meme to take over, but I guess good stats CAN be beat (read: obliterated). Boulderfist Ogre, Dr. Boom, Leeroy Jenkins, Zul'jin & Chillwind Yeti all in battle for 2nd place. But there was 1, lonely at the top laughing at these insects. Imagine being so iconic that you're still relevant, still popular after all these years, and if you were to delete the top comment you'd still win. Ragnaros, my beloved, how can I ever forget you? Day 5 we're channeling our inner yin & yang in our search for balance. Sure each class has had it's fair share of problems, but which one has been the most balanced throughout the years?

Discussion Congratulations, Blizzard. You finally made me quit the game.

First off, I'm a Team 5 gameplay defender. I've played since Beta and even at the worst of times, I've been able to craft a deck that's been somewhat fun. And when it hasn't been fun, I can play Battlegrounds or gasp a different game. The designers of the game do work hard, don't get it right always, and the shit they catch from this subreddit is often over the top.

HOWEVER

It has been well known that the app has become so unoptimized and bloated that its performance on mobile devices has become worse and worse. I play on an IPad and have grown accustomed to quitting and restarting the game every five turns because the memory leaks are so bad that it will crash otherwise. At least until tonight. Now the game is so unstable it crashes every turn whenever I play against an opponent with an animated portrait. This is just not right. This problem has been going on for months and months and there has been no attempt to address it, just let it rot and slowly get worse.

Tonight it crashed, I restarted, it reconnected, and then immediately crashed again. It already would do that when trying to open the store, ironically. But now it happened during ranked games. I tried switching to my phone, but that just soft locks on the animations from my opponent's portrait. This is something I just can't suffer anymore. The very fact that the game is still available on the App store in this state is just a bad faith act.

And for those who would suggest, "Just buy a newer IPad." I'd ask why? My IPad is only three years old and works flawlessly. The thought of shelling out $350 just so I can play Hearthstone would make me the biggest and stupidest whale in the history of the game. No thank you.

To whomever at Blizzard that will read and ignore this, if I am so lucky: driving players away with a bad meta is temporary. Driving players away by making your platform unusable is permanent.

Discussion I don’t think mech warrior should be able to swing 40 damage in one turn

Post image
Upvotes

Around 120 damage a game in total just through deathrattles and we gotta prep every turn for umbras 40 turn swing. Not to mention the random “attack an enemy” and weapon pinging your face. Asides from it being a bigger mech with a weapon interaction there’s no class identity here too. Make it 7 or 6 damage being dealt so that umbra still has a lethal on raw board but needs to work for it a little more. It’s not even hard to copy and paste training dummy to where you are getting 5 procs with umbra

Discussion If you are scared of "summoning/destroying 2000 minions" just play BG

I've seen it in a comment somewhere, that the weekly quest can be completed in BG so I gave it a try... and I just played a single BG game with Undeads, I won first place and my quest was gone... before I started it was on ~300/2000.

Hope this helps someone before it gets patched out.

Also just to add to this, I feel like ALL quests should be designed so we can always complete them in BG too, because why not...

Discussion Seeing these number differences is honestly crazy for what the event started as

Post image

These fixed numbers is what previous events have generally been and what this one should have started as. The Draw Cards quest was so bad that I built an optimized draw spam Rogue list to use in Wild when I got the quest repeatedly.

Discussion Walking Mountain’s Overload value is bolded

Post image

I cannot unsee it

This card is cursed

Out of the 65 overload cards, this is the only one with a bolded overload value, I double checked all of them.

Btw I love the reference to Walking Fountain (8 mana 4/8 Rush Lifesteal Windfury)

So right into the details, this card:

  1. Only buff your board, hand and deck, NOT WHEREVER THEY ARE, it does not buff any summoned minion as shown in the 2nd image

  2. The condition will only trigger when there's one tribe in the deck, but not just that, even if the deck have a single neutral minion in it, the battecry won't trigger,

Bonus details: the reborn that keeps the enchantment on adaptive amalgam will be lost after it dies once, despite the text still saying the reborn will keep the enchantment

so yeah, i thought it was some sort of aura buffing, but it's more of a cheaper wish upon a start with a condition and a body

Discussion Can we get more info on the "Go all-in" for the Summer Championship...?

Upvotes

I know that two packs won't change my "Hearthstone life" but...just for saying, I'm a (bad) casual ranked player (D10-D5, not stressing more), and I usually spend my mobile gaming time randomly rotating between HS, Gwent, and LoR. I can't get if, for having the 2 bonus pack, I have to win 10 ranked games from 8-12th September (the timespan for choosing the champ) or 12-14th (the championship itself). For example, if i know that it's 8-12th, I can spend more time on HS than other games to (maybe) achieve the packs. It would have also been nice to have a quest for counting the wins (so we don't have to count it manually...)

News Patch 33.4.1 Hotfix - Rogue Quest & Whizbang unbanned and Event Quest changes

Thumbnail us.forums.blizzard.com
193 Upvotes

Didn’t see this posted already.

Patch 33.4.1 is a server-side hotfix patch, rolling out today.

Should either already be live or in about 10 mins with normal patch schedules. Since it's server side there isn't anything to download, it'll just be live when you open the game.

Bug fixes:

  • Torga now correctly draws a Kindred card and another card to activate it.
  • We’ve resolved the issue with Lie in Wait and is now safe to play (the card will be unbanned after the patch goes live, along with Whizbang the Wonderful).
  • Resolved a bug that allowed Mages to get Underfel Rift through Frozen Clone.

And they’re also making some of the Day of Rebirth event quests easier.

IMPORTANT: the in-game display will still show the old numbers and will be updated with the 33.4.2 Patch. The changes, however, will be active with this hotfix already.

Discussion r/Hearthstone's favorites Day 4: Most Iconic Card

Post image
335 Upvotes

Absolutely dominating from start to finish, Defile not just won, but won with the biggest margin yet. The number 2, Coin, didn't even got half the votes Defile got. And rightfully so. Like bakedbread420 said in the comments sure you'll have to do some thinking, but the potential to clear everything for just 2 mana makes it 1 of the most powerful boardclears we have and it will continue to be a staple for days to come. Day 4 we're talking icons! Cards that not just have had a lasting impression on the community, but are also known to people who don't play Hearthstone. Flamewreathed Faceless, Dr. Boom, Leeroy Jenkins, Zilliax, Patches. There are a few other cards you can make an argument for, but is this even gonna be a debate my fellow ogre enjoyers?
