IRL Trent and his fiancé came into my Applebees last night! So nice and respectful, had a great time meeting them :)

Please tell me I'm not the only one who was confused and thought "huh didn't Trent marry a girl" until they realized that the other guy with Trent is OP, not meant to be his fiancé.

Doesn't help that unless I'm wrong (not english native), fiancée (female) is written with an e at the end? xD

Same here, I stared at that for a few seconds thinking Trent left Macee for another guy lmao.

As for the fiancé/fiancée distinction, technically you're right, but I've seen people use fiancé to refer to men and women alike

You’re right, fiancé is supposed to be male and fiancée is supposed to be female, sort of like how blond is supposed to be male, and blonde is female. But people regularly ignore that distinction in English so it doesn’t have much meaning anymore.

Nope, I thought the same.

Don't worry I was like eh didn't he propose to and marry a woman in Hell's Kitchen?

Lol, must not be a lot of food choices in the area if he's going to Applebees.

u/xadamx94 May 23 '25

To be fair, Applebees is fine if you can’t get in anywhere else. Not great but not terrible

I mean it's the little Caesars of sit down restaurants you didn't have to worry about getting dressed up for

u/Shadowwo1f05 May 23 '25

I’m waiting for more comments lol

u/DioSwiftFan May 23 '25

OP, if by fiance you meant his wife right?

11

u/bitterpettykitty May 24 '25

Yes that was my mistake I was going off of the finale When he proposed to her

1

u/DioSwiftFan May 24 '25

Ah gotcha.

8

u/OhMyGod_Zilla May 23 '25

Isn’t Trenton married?

9

u/Lordmage30 May 23 '25

Oh that's amazing! both of you looking so cute!, I can't imagine someone you saw on tv coming to a place you work!

u/DistributionShoddy May 24 '25

they’re just normal people mate🤣

Surprised to see the winner of HK in an Applebee's but that's cool.

u/RudyPup May 23 '25

Have you ever watched Top chef? Chefs eat shit food when not cooking.

11

u/mattyGOAT1996 May 23 '25

Hell when the chefs are in the dorms, they usually have microwaved crap.

8

u/Traditional_Camp9397 May 23 '25

bc you cook all day, you don't wanna cook when you get home

5

u/Richard_AIGuy May 24 '25

"ohhh tater tots"

That shit was so relatable.

u/TheShadowCat May 24 '25

There was an old episode of David Letterman where he got Martha Stewart to eat a Wendy's hamburger, and she loved it. Seemed genuine too.

Must’ve been a great moment, and a great memory to treasure. Trent always seemed like he’d be a cool dude in real life so I’m not surprised.

5

u/Bovice144 May 23 '25

He was in my public speaking class in college and one time I almost got him in trouble because I smelled like weed and the teacher confronted him first before realizing it was me. Just a funny memory. He’s a great dude though.

I’m soooo confused. He got married in S21 did he not, when the wedding itself was in Hell’s Kitchen??? Or was the entire wedding faked just to create drama? Awkward 🐢.

7

u/kingcong95 May 23 '25

The real thing wouldn’t have been on HK, they just did it for exposure while also giving HK a free episode.

2

u/drdurian34 May 23 '25

And we’re calling not calling her wife bc she wasn’t yet, in the series, either season?

2

u/IsSheMe May 24 '25

Nope he didn't... Pretty sure he got actually married in 2023.

1

u/drdurian34 May 24 '25

Care to explain? I’m not trying to be dumb here. Asking an honest question.

3

u/IsSheMe May 24 '25

They never got married on hell's kitchen... They got married afterwards.

0

u/drdurian34 May 24 '25

Okay, so why not politely explain that? Just curious. We all saw the episode in S21. Except you? Or maybe every single person in this sub is smart except me? Im thinking you feel it’s closer to the latter, accompanied by a turned-up nose. Hoping that’s not the case, but that’s the feeling I’m getting. Congrats on being smarter than the rest of the world.

5

u/IsSheMe May 24 '25

Oh I wish I was smarter than the rest of the world 😂

Hell's Kitchen is a special interest of mine so I always research things about it (I have autism, sorry if I was too blunt). Trenton posted on his Instagram about the wedding, the fake wedding in hell's kitchen was purely for show.

u/drdurian34 May 24 '25

You are totally cool! I am on the spectrum too, and the struggle is too real!

You were not too blunt, I was probably just not awake enough.

Thank you for this explanation! I was never a big fan of Trenton, so I don’t follow his socials. But this makes perfect sense as you describe.

Please forgive me for insinuating you were being rude.

u/Psychological_Sail80 May 24 '25

Wait, so Trent and Macy have had TWO weddings and they're still not legally married???

2

u/fable420 May 23 '25

Cute!! Was he there for the half apps?

2

u/MyOhMyPancakes May 23 '25

Dumb question: which season were they on?

5

u/Alex72598 With grape power, comes grape responsibility May 23 '25

Trent was on S20.

2

u/MyOhMyPancakes May 23 '25

God for some reason my brain just didn't put the face to the name, thank you.

1

u/kuse94 May 24 '25

He probs went after 9pm to enjoy the late night deals

1

u/Nice-Ad6510 May 24 '25

Did he critique the food? Did you meet him before or after he ate? lol

1

u/Ok_Hyena_1720 May 27 '25

Applebee's is so bomb! 😋

u/lvdde May 23 '25

Omg a bi king yayy

Did he get married and divorced or called it off earlier? Also he definitely looks happier

26

u/ProfessorPliny May 23 '25 edited May 23 '25

Bi? He’s posing with OP… not a male partner. OP is wearing his Applebees uniform and apron in this pic.

He is still married according to his IG. OP is probably referring to her as fiancé since that’s what she was when his season aired.

5

u/Alex72598 With grape power, comes grape responsibility May 23 '25

Technically also a fiancé is supposed to be a man, while fiancée would be the female term, but since we’re not French, we usually just ignore the fancy schmancy grammatical gender anyway (apologies to anyone here who is French :p.)

1

u/lvdde May 23 '25

Ohhhhhhhhh

Thanks lol

13

u/bitterpettykitty May 23 '25

Fiancé as in the woman who was on the show with him when he won, I'm clearly an Applebees employee haha

7

u/Frequent-Click-951 May 23 '25

That's fucking hilarious omg

1

u/lvdde May 23 '25

😩😩😩

4

u/for-a-dreamer May 23 '25

You got assigned Bi by a Reddit user lmao

2

u/RathSlayer91 May 23 '25

I thought you were the fiancé ☠️

You're right but it's one of those things like how blond refers to men and blonde refers to women that just tends to be forgotten

2

u/Reasonable-Link7053 May 23 '25

Honestly though when I saw the picture, I was confused thinking the picture is Trent and his partner lol
