Flue tile sizing?

Hi home improvement, experts and DIY’ers.

Ran into a conundrum as I’m prepping to redo the wash caps on top of my chimneys and replace some flue tiles.

My question lies around flue tile sizing.

The flu tile for this particular fireplace seems to be an oddball size and the closest thing I can find is an 8”x12”… but these appear to be 8-1/4”x12-3/4” from outside edge to edge. I ask this as for some reason flue tiles are also hard find local to me in Central Ohio, otherwise I’d buy a couple and just compare.

Is this an oddball size that’s no longer made or is my flue that measures a bit bigger an 8”x12”?

I don't have a good answer except that sizes on most construction items have changed over the years and standard is no longer standard. It's why when my husband replaced out front door, it didn't actually fit 🤦‍♀️
