Question about charity
Long story short I’m from California, I got in a bit of trouble and was supposed to be booked in jail. My vitals didn’t check out and they took me to the hospital. At one point my officer releases my but never told me you’ll be financially responsible for everything.
I do have money to pay for the bill but for what was done was ridiculous, almost 10,000 for test and stuff. I want to apply for charity but wondering on what they check for.

You can try, there's no way to know what that specific hospital/company looks at for charity.

Each hospital determines based on your financial circumstances f you are eligible for any percentage

The hospital has to make their Charity policy public. Check the hospital system webpage. Most likely they will want 3 months bank statements, proof of income. They might ask for W2. A list of assets and expenses. They will allow for a certain amount of money in your bank account and assets. If you are over income for 100% charity they probably have a sliding scale and you might qualify for a discount.

Okay I do have some money saved up from a couple years but monthly income isn’t that much.

If you were in custody, the jail should be paying.

Custody can be remanded to HC facilities for treatment, only citation issued in CA. Doing so means you are responsible for HC costs. Sounds like she tried to play the cops and got played herself.
