soundcloud Looking for advices on where to share my upcoming track
Hey everyone, I’ve got a new track coming out this Friday and I’d love to get some feedback and also a bit of advice on how to promote it properly. The track is mostly jungle-inspired, but stylistically it probably leans more towards what people nowadays might call breakcore. I was wondering if r/idm would be the right place to post it, or if there are better subs/communities where people into this sound usually hang out?

I’m not trying to spam, just genuinely looking to share it with people who might enjoy it and to hear what I could improve on. Any tips for promotion or for finding the right audience would mean a lot. Thanks!

Looking for blissful idm
Does anyone have any recommendations for idm with cheerful and "bubbly" (lack of a better word) sounds? Something similar to re.sort by sora, or anything with "clicky" and satisfying sounds.

New artist
Hey all, I go by Mudveil Pink. Just got done with my very first EP named Cryst (four tracks I put together over the last month).
Melodic and ambient if that's your cup of tea.
I’m brand new to releasing music, so feedback would mean a lot.

from ultra challenging beats to beautiful mellow melodies - anyone else much more a fan of the latter than the former?
my first exposure to idm was via boards of canada, back in '05. not long after, i'd get into aphex, fsol, autechre, orbital, squarepusher, etc., etc., + trip-hop, and various other loosely associated genres. happening on boc back then proved to be something of a musical landmine, not only due to what all they'd come to mean to me, but the sheer amount of incredible other musical discoveries exploring their orbit led to.
one thing that struck me with certain artists in particular- will mostly focus on aphex here, but it's just as common w/ authechre and squarepusher- is the immense juxtaposition from their super challenging beat-heavy pieces to the beautiful super mellow melodic stuff. the disparity is so wide that these pieces may well be from two different artists, but alas, they come from the same artist(s). and if i'm honest, despite my immense love for idm (and idm-adjacent genres), it was those complicated, challenging, rhythms- which i know many adore-, that i never could bond with, while on the other hand, the more melodic stuff has been absolutely profound in my life; like a sonic expression of the frequencies which resonate most with my absolute being.
i'm just working things out here, kind of like one would a math equation, so bear with me... the thing is, even those mellow melodic pieces which i love... they are kind of deceptively simple, yet really are complex worlds themselves. in that sense, the two distinct sounds "make sense". still though, the difference from the one sound to the next, often from one track on a record to the very next, is jarring.
the thing with those complex beat-heavy tracks is that i find them extremely grinding and most unpleasant. on several aphex records, you can go from the ultimate 'chill' serene track to the most challenging wake-you-up punch-you-in-the-face math equation thing.
just wondering if there are other idm fans who more prefer the melodic stuff?
