gods forbid that you get into the appropriate right lane early instead of attempting to save 10 seconds.

But then they'd have to slow down for a couple of seconds!! And we all know they can't (read won't) do that!

It’s funny, I guessed it was Ohio. Just has that look to it.

NE Ohio checking in

I drive past this exact exit all the time and it didn't even register in my brain at first, I'm so used to seeing it.

That exit is on the 24E just east of Napoleon, so either Henry or Wood Township. Clay Township is 2hrs south near Dayton.

I’m going off what the GPS told me. It shows it in trips, so I may have looked at the wrong town.🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: You are correct, this is in Henry County, OH. I’ve updated it. Thank you!

I replied directly to it. For some reason it posted it as separate. Regardless, it clearly states “If you are unable to reply directly to this comment, please leave a standalone comment in your thread with the requested information.”🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't understand how they always manage to do this without hitting anything, especially the gore point barrels and guard rails.

24

u/racerpoet 2d ago

What I don’t understand is what kind of la-la land you have to be in to be cruising in the leftmost lane when you need the closest exit on the right.😵‍💫

It was George Costanza

While the silver car is most definetely at fault, the red car is an idiot as well

29

u/Manunancy 2d ago

The semi would mask teh original idiot for quite a bit, giving less time to react to his antics.

When you'd rather be right than be safe

u/Song42 2d ago

You mean the red car who didn't know what silver car was going to do, and by the time he would have seen silver car left him without enough time to react? Yes, real idiot.

Red truck has every right to be pissed at the silver car but - me personally - if I’m in that spot I’m doing something to avoid an accident instead of trusting insurance to figure it out…

u/_jump_yossarian 2d ago

red truck doesn't have the same POV so that guy cutting across the gore last second was a complete surprise and slamming on the brakes would have been a terrible idea.

u/BlatantDoughnut 2d ago

I don’t know, looks like they had 2+ seconds to see what was coming. I’m just saying that’s enough time to take action so you don’t miss side-swiping the car by an inch or two.

I’m just saying that’s enough time to take action

they clearly moved over to the shoulder. Again, the POV of the semi is not close to what the pickup had and wouldn't have seen that dope cross the gore until the last second.

It looked like red car sped up to make it more of a conflict.

12

u/_jump_yossarian 2d ago

Or the semi cut their speed which made it look like the pickup sped up.

Watch it again. The VW failed hard on this one. If there were an accident it wouldn't have been the pickups fault.

Seems to me like two brothers found one another and wanted a real close reunion... the red truck entered the frame at the tail end of 0:09, and they almost connected (if they didn't) at 0:12. I'm not saying either of them is excusable (We all know the silver car started it), but... they could have at least been looking where the fuck they were going, and the red truck could have tapped their breaks at least to break their cruise control if they were in that mode. Either way @ u/racerpoet stay safe out there man!

Yeah, this camera footage is from one of our company trucks. Our driver called us to inform us of the incident because he had to brake harshly. It looks like the pickup didn’t anticipate the silver car cutting so close, but moved to the rightmost side of his lane. Could have hit the brakes for sure. Hindsight is 20-20. Probably didn’t want to swerve in the rain.

The more I watch it, the more I agree with people who think the red car simply couldn't see the first idiot until it was right beside it-- but then proceeds to pass in a one-lane exit. Not smart. Also, they are in an exit lane, which means slow down, going significantly faster than highway traffic. Red car is at least a little bit of an idiot.

That pickup didn't give any shits lol

Technically it's "Idiots never miss their exit", but close enough.
