I didn't see a bar anywhere before he got to the bridge, and obviously he managed to back up, so he wasn't stuck.

A true idiot would have driven into the bridge. This doesn’t qualify!

I got a bridge in the city next to me and there are rented trucks opened each year, it's a tradition.

My guess is that OP just wants the clicks.

Well hopefully people are smart enough to realise all this, but then it's surprising how many people don't realise how difficult driving a lorry would be especially considering most struggle with cars.

Hard to tell on the video but looks like the only warning sign was just before the tunnel, past the point of no return.

There was one before the roundabout and another before roundabout exit and one before the bridge so basically I’ve missed 3 info indicators 😅🥲

The video shows a warning sign in the first frame, right before the roundabout. If I understand the sign's meaning, it is indicating that taller vehicles should turn right at the roundabout and take the longer way around.

The drive of shame back past all the vehicles waiting for the tunnel.

you know you can crop videos right

Better yet, trim.

What would you cut out?

  1. The warning sign at the beginning telling taller vehicles to go right at the roundabout.

  2. Going the wrong way at the roundabout.

  3. Realizing they couldn't go further that way.

  4. The hassle of having to turn around on a narrow street in a large vehicle.

  5. Going back to the roundabout and taking the correct route.

It seems like a complete and coherent sequence of events that wouldn't make sense if any part was missing. Maybe you're too impatient or not bright enough to put all the pieces together, but every part of the video was relevant.

Can tell this isn't the US by how the cars are all giving the truck plenty of space to maneuver. If it was the US they'd drive right up to it and try to squeeze around it every chance they got, making it harder for the truck to get out of their way.

I like where your head is at...... but most every single video from that one bridge is idiots not acknowledging the height warning, whilst this post is about someone who did..... but wasn't warned early enough

1

u/LucidLeviathan 16h ago

Oh, yeah. It just immediately reminded me of that.

An idiot would have hit it. This guy, (not an idiot) backed up and went a different way and everything was fine

It happens sometimes. My friend is a driver, he drives all over the USA. A few times he’s gotten stuck on a road because of a low bridge and had to call the authorities to help him clear the road so he can back up.

Your luck with that Nextbase camera was better than mine. I don't know how it was so grainy on the one I had. When someone buys a 4K camera, they would expect to be able to read license plates but it was so bad I couldn't. I am not entirely sure of all of the settings I used but I know I selected 4K. I could not review the settings any more, I returned it. I would say that I liked it already having a polarizer built in because with a lot of cameras that comes separate or not installed by default. I wonder how much more of a difference an IR filter would make on dash cameras, like my Viofo. Maybe a UV filter instead, who knows. I just know that those filters are not made for the Viofo since it takes more of one that is made to clip on.
