SHOW SPOILERS Gay variant confirmation Spoiler

Kaitrin Snodgrass is a storyboard revisionist on the show, and she was recently asked if specifically if this mark was gay and gave confirmation.

Personally I've feel it makes logical sense that in the infinite multiverse that there are versiond of you that have different sexualities and backgrounds, and it gives us much more depth to each variant aside " he's mark but evil". Remember as always guys this is for fun discussion and nothing else.

At risk of coming off as pedantic, wouldn't this fall on the hands of the writers ?

It's really not that pedantic. The words of a storyboard revisionist don't hold much weight unless she learned this from the writers themselves.

You will be shocked to learn that storyboard revisionists work closely with show writers and directors and can even pitch ideas to them that sometimes make it into the show.

I don’t need to look it up; I see how these crews work in-person. Once the SB artist is done with their pass the revisionists work on the storyboard from then on; that can mean adding whole scenes, reboarding scenes per notes, reboarding scenes per script changes etc… This process often involves the writers and it is not uncommon for revisionists to be in active communication with the writing staff to ensure the story stays on track despite notes. (This is also not to mention that these crews often grow very close and just… talk to each other…)

Some of them do. Not all of them.

In my decade of experience I’ve yet to work on a production where they don’t, but sure.

Hmm I'm pretty sure being on the team already lets you know about the ideas floating around. It doesn't really change the important beats they have to follow later on so maybe this little blurbs of information is what they can add to give better depth.

But if anything else i guess it could be argued it's the headcannon of a team member, if nothing else.

No one will be arguing that and will just treat it as fact lol

EXACTLY LIKE I WANT ACTUAL CONFIRMATION

from an interpretative standpoint, none of their say means anything. at least from a death of the authour perspective, which is my preferred stance on basically every work. either way, I suspected this mark was gay based on the inflection in his voice, but I prefer it being left to the viewer to build their own view of a work.

I'm gonna stick with my death of the author headcannon perspective that it's ambiguous. I just find it kind of funny to think that if I died and any of my straight guy friends said "I miss /u/BoxSweater" people would be like "OMG, he's gay for /u/BoxSweater". I'm not at all against the idea of a gay Mark, but I don't really like the idea of this being sufficient confirmation that he's gay, it's better as just an ambiguous relationship imo.

Little difference there is you don't exist an adaptation in a book that's already changes things like race gender and orientation.
