Yeah, it’s rough. A bunch of evil versions of you show up, kill a bunch of people, kills your work buddy, Conquest shows up, kills more people, almost kills your girlfriend and brother, tells you your dad’s dead and then gives you an ass whopping

And then on top of that you are forced to kill yet another living-being, this time knowing how important it will be for you to always kill these types of villains moving forward and the burden that carries too.

…honestly I just kinda groaned at that.

I do understand in a sense why they decided to write things this way…but honestly, it just felt like the entire season was thematically building up to just rehashing what Mark should’ve learned at the end of the season 2 finale.

Like this is literal life or death, the fate of you, your family, and your entire planet…it’s just really frustrating to think that Mark had to go through all this pain and suffering again just to fully realize what he has to do.

I disagree. The last season ended with him torn up over killing someone and he did not beat down Angstrom with the intent to kill him, he was just angry. Season two did not revolve around killing, but around his dynamic with other people like Amber.

This season, however, was definitely about learning to be a bit more flexible with your morals (though be careful you don’t slip too far). When Angstrom reappeared, he hesitated a little but still was planning to kill him intentionally this time.

When Conquest appeared? He shifted to intending to kill him fairy quickly and tried REALLY hard to do it. And at the end of the season? Instead of crying about it like he did with Angstrom, this time he was accepting of and decided that killing some people is necessary.
