That "I'm so lonely..." monologue by Conquest is by fucking far the most scariest thing I have heard a villain say...

And telling Mark to take it to his grave? Chills. It’s almost like Conquest finds some weird twisted sense of intimacy in the act of killing, where he can be as vulnerable as he wants because Mark won’t survive to remember it.

To add to this, he wants Oliver to give him his name before he tears him apart. He calls eve pretty after punching a hole in her. Killing is his only form of connection with others.

Makes so much sense why Nolan folded on the cause so quickly after meeting Debbie, despite his clout as one of Viltrum's elite

The Viltrum Empire is built so much upon strength that they've neglected the value of intimate connections. As soon as Nolan found that, he lost nearly all devotion to the cause.

Even in his fight with Mark at the end of S1, his monologue reads more as him trying to re-convince himself, rather than Mark.
