The problem with redemption is that there’s not a solution for everyone.
To the people that they killed, or left without family, or maimed, no they don’t deserve forgiveness. Those people will likely never forgive them and they don’t have to.
That doesn’t mean that genuine change isn’t possible though. As the person that did the evil, you have to come to terms with the fact that continuing on living and helping other people is worthwhile and good, but also that there are some people that will never forgive you and that will absolutely close doors for you.
Preaching about fairness after such evils is just out the window, you just have to accept the punishments that come your way and endeavour to prove you are becoming a better person
Not one is preaching about fairness...there is a practical sense to this too...if Cecil where to make a deal for a minor punishment for a Vitrimite on his side he would do it in a heart beat as the next guy may not be nearly as forgiving. There is a dofference between toleerance and acceptance.
I’m not talking about you, I’m saying as the one that committed evil. You live your life and do what you can, knowing lots of people will rightfully hate you.
Of course people like Cecil will offer him redemption they need him, and he has to do it to redeem himself, he’ll just have to live with the hate
