I’m using Bip&Go for Italy with my motorcycle. I activated it specifically for Italy, and I even got the special armband holder for the transponder. Yesterday, I went through the toll station with my bike, wearing the armband, but the barrier didn’t open.

Because I didn’t want it to be awkward if it failed, I chose a Telepass + card (mixed) lane instead of the Telepass-only lane. But in that lane, the Telepass didn’t work and the barrier stayed closed.

Did I do something wrong? Do I really have to use the Telepass-only lanes for it to work reliably with Bip&Go on a motorcycle? And do I need to lift my arm with the armband towards the sensor to make sure it gets detected?

What’s the correct way to use Bip&Go with a motorcycle so the toll gate opens every time?

I cannot believe I didn't realize this but when my husband and I booked our trip to Italy 9 months ago, we will be in Milan right in the middle of fashion week September 25-28 (in a few weeks!). We do have our hotel booked and our last supper tickets. How crazy will restaurants be? Do we need to book places now? Can our hotel concierge help? One thing we don't have is any tickets (timed entry or otherwise) for the Duomo. I haven't been to Milan in probably 15 years so back then you could basically just walk up and get a ticket for the Duomo including the terrace. Should I book some sort of timed entry visit for that?

I am looking for a studio or apartment near to Milan city center (2-10 km far), close to metro/train or buses, suitable for 4 adults and 1 child for 11 nights (22- sep. to 3 oct.) for Max 1000 euros (all taxes included). I want recommendations for websites or places to reserve from, and any advices for this trip :)

I will deeply appreciate any recommendations sightseeing, historical places, museums, restaurants, street food, traditions, public transport, night out/club/party, art, nature, markets…

So we plan to visit the city for whole three days, but go out in the evenings have drinks, find some good music and dancing places if possible! One day we planned to go to out of city outlet stores for a few hours.

Family of four (49, 44, 14 & 10) taking our first trip to Italy. Plan is to arrive in Rome on Good Friday. Rome for four nights, then Florence for two and Venice for three. We're concerned about the Easter holiday and impact on museums, sites and restaurants and crowds generally. We're somewhat locked into that week given school recess. Another potential would be to fly into Venice and end in Rome. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Looking at coming to Italy end of may time and trying to work out the best and cheapest way to do it.

Unsure where in Italy to go but we are looking on love holidays and they’re giving us beach vibes. We aren’t wanting a beach holiday. The transfers are a lot of money.

Does anyone have any good advice? Is there any good air BnB systems or transport routes we can do.

I’m a solo female traveler and have a flight from Malpensa at 9 AM. I’m staying in the Maggiolina area. What’s the safest way to get to Malpensa? Is it safe to be around Centrale at 4 AM, or would it be better to just spend the night at the airport?

My friends and I are planning our annual Europe trip and this year we’re heading to Italy. We’re trying to decide between two routes and would love some advice. For context: we’re big foodies, we love the beach, and we enjoy exploring new towns and wandering around (we don’t really care about nightlife).

Option 1: Fly into Palermo → split time between Taormina, Cefalù, and Scopello // It seems the driving in Sicily is a little chaotic, so we considered hiring a driver for transfers between bases.

Option 2: Fly into Naples → ferry to Ischia and Capri // A little more of a crowded option, but it seems the ferry is quick and easy for transportation.

For those who’ve been: • Which option has a better mix of food, beaches, and exploring? • Are there major pros/cons between these two? • Any thoughts on which might be easier logistics-wise (ferries, transport, etc.)?

We’re looking for a balance of great meals, downtime, and a little adventure. Thanks in advance for the tips!

Headed to Italy soon. I know that men’s shorts have a standard. But I’m hearing two things. Either the entire knee has to be covered or at least all of the thigh and partially the knee. Are these Nike shorts ok?

We are in Rome sept. 25-28th I was supposed to get tickets last night for the 26th for the colosseum but I totally forgot! We wanted to try and get the underground access but those tickets go so quickly. It looks like the regular access for the colosseum in September isn’t available yet? does anyone know when those come out? or if there’s any chance I could still get underground access for the colosseum on the 26th of sept.

From 11–14 September I’ll be staying with my girlfriend and some friends in Moniga del Garda, and I’d love to propose to her during that time. I’m looking for ideas on the most beautiful and romantic places around Lake Garda.

Some of the spots I’ve thought about are:

• Sirmione - maybe near the Scaliger Castle or at sunset by the lakeside.
• Verona - I know about Juliet’s balcony, but is it too crowded? Are there quieter, hidden romantic corners in the city?
• Northern Lake Garda - possibly somewhere with a stunning view over the lake, maybe in Riva del Garda, Limone sul Garda or Malcesine.

I’d also love tips on where to find a good florist near Lake Garda or Verona to surprise her with flowers.

If you know of any hidden gems, viewpoints, or romantic corners that would be perfect for a proposal, I’d be so grateful for your tips. Thanks a lot!

Hey! I am traveling to Milan for 2 days in early September and am looking for recommendations on best places to go for aperitivo. I’m interested in the navigli area but not sure if it is very touristy and not worth it. I am staying pretty close to the Duomo so maybe that area is better? Any other restaurant recommendations for the area would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks for your help!

How is transportation in Umbria? Is it easy to call taxi or Ubers? Staying in Assisi for a few days outside of the center location. And interested to going from the train station to our stay. Also interested from Assisi to perugia.

Greetings to all! Adventurous family of five (kids will be 9,12, and 14) planning a trip July 2026. Tentative idea is to fly in to Florence from the US. Spend a few days in Florence. Next stop would be Rome. I know the easiest way to get to Rome would be by train. But we want to rent a car and take a couple days to go through Tuscany casually to make our way to Rome. We of course want to see the highlights of Rome. Coliseum, Vatican, maybe something else. But we're not big on seeing all of the major touristy places. We like to immerse ourselves in the local culture when we go to countries. Less major touristy stuff and more off the beaten path stuff. Next, make our way down to Naples / Amalfi Coast / Capri Island for as many days as we need. I'm thinking 4-5. Then fly out of Naples back to the US For those who have had similar trips, is this itinerary reasonable? Not so much asking about specific locales or restaurants or anything like that in this post, that will come later. Just wanting to get some advice on the general itinerary for now. Thank you all.

Hello, I am planning a trip to Italy for next summer and plan on traveling all around Italy for about a month and a half. During this, I was planning on doing a work exchange for about 2 to 4 weeks. I am conflicted on which region would be best to do this. I have long dreamed of a trip to Italy and finally and doing it now that I am an "adult". I am torn between volunteering in the Tuscany region, Amalfi Coast/Sorrento, Sicily, the Dolomites, or a larger city such as Florence, or possible Venice. I am looking for a place that is fairly walkable and accessible via motorbike, and that has lots of night life, good food, and scenic areas. Please give me any advice, I truly am clueless. Which region is the best for someone solo seeking cultural immersion?
