i don't think people would like this game as much with the FF tag line, people have more defined expectations to what an FF game should look like, i bet everyone would complain a lot more on the QTE/Parry system and say something like:"the best FF games didn't need QTE/action segment in the middle of the turn based game"

one of the main reasons for this game's success imo is that it's brand new frenchise that no one had expectations for

I’m sure it would get a lot more typical FF scrutiny if it was an FF game, but it’s hard to imagine it not selling even more if it had the name and marketing budget of Final Fantasy attached to it.

i think success as reception and sales, or alternatively it might have had current level sales success but it wouldn't really be enough for SE(who would probably put more money into it too)

Considering people will complain about FF games no matter what, I’d guess SE would be pretty happy about the reception of a 92 metascore game if it sold decently.

You're right but even with the parrying and QTE stuff it's still better than FF being full-blown action games.
