Discussion Ultimate JRPG Villain Party: The Jack Bros have been adopted as Team Pet! Vote today for Team Healer

Post image

Rules:

  • Most upvoted comment will be the winner. Upvote a character you want to win instead of creating more comments.
  • Only one debut game per character. This means when a character is chosen, no other characters that debuted in the same game can be used. If the top comment is ineligible, the next highest will be the winner. If the top comment has more than one character named, the first one will be taken. This is to encourage diversity while still allowing some wiggle room for long running series.
  • Characters must be from Japanese-style role playing games. They do not need to necessarily be from Japan, but must fit the theme of this subreddit.
  • Characters can be nominated as a group. If there's several villains commonly associated with one another, they can be collectively nominated instead of individually. For example, Team Rocket could be nominated instead of the individual members alone.
  • Characters should fit the role they're nominated for. I retain veto power for meme responses.
  • Keep things at a PG level. No characters from adult/hentai games will be accepted.

Ultimate JRPG Party Final Roster

Team Leader: Giliath Osborne (Trails in the Sky the 3rd)

Team Booty: Zenos yae Galvus (Final Fantasy XIV)

Holly Whyte, the White Mage asterisk holder in Bravely Default. She only heals people so she can hurt them again.

Someone understood the assignment 😊

If you're going for Bravely Default, then I think Victor S. Court is the way better pick. One of my favorite JRPG villains!

Trousseau from Octopath Traveler II

I think Vanessa from the first one would also be a good candidate. She heals for free with salves that have severe side effects so she can overcharge the cure to that ailment

Rella Cygnus from Metaphor

This list is gonna be at least 30% Final Fantasy, but you're right. She does make for an annoying white mage, especially by phase 3.

Outside of the Final Fantasy, there's a guy that works for the Vatican in Shadow Hearts 2 that may fit here, Nicholas

I don't think the guy's a "healer" per say, but would Albedo from Xenosaga qualify as an immortal whose constantly "healing" himself?

He's a bat-shit crazy guy who'll chop off his own head to taunt someone.

I will always love how the "censored" version has him tearing his arm and head off instead of chopping them off. It ended up being even more brutal and hardcore lol

A bit outside the box but I'll take it.

Thinking about it, a Team Healer who only heals himself is really in the spirit of villainy, no?

Ardyn from ff15. We all forget he was a healer that took on the world's bad juju, but he was.

Maybe a bit of a stretch but how about Artorius from Tales of Berseria? He has healing abilities and was largely seen as a hero and the only one who could save the world from demons. Definitely more Paladin coded but they do heal.

Ardyn from FFXV

Ardyn Izunia, he healed the people afflicted with the starscourge and eventually turned into a demon because of it.

Magus Sister Cindy, FFIV. She's the one that revives the others if you kill them.

Is Seymour Guado a healer?

Chaos, FFI.

Cure4 is a spell he knows and it's a 100% heal.

Darn it, I missed my chance to nominate Airy for Team Pet.

On the other hand, it did open up this slot for Holly, so it all works out in the end, I think.

I vote Sephiran from FE10.

This is a good answer that I wish had gotten more traction. Definitely one of my favorite Fire Emblem villains.

Ozma (Final Fantasy 9)

more of an opponent than a villain though, but it took me a while to remember an opponent with any memorable healing. there's some comedy value in having this thing as a healer..

Fedora wearin Ardyn Izunia from ff15. Did too damn good a job at healing that it forced him to become a villain.

How the hell was Team Booty not Queen Slug-for-a-butt..?

looks at sub

Ohhh this is limited to JRPGS.

Sadly, as far as I am aware, there is not an Earthworm Jim JRPG.
