First Big Band composition: Looking for feedback

Hi everyone! I’m a student from Singapore, and I’ve mostly studied classical music my whole life. I just started composing this year, and I’m trying my hand at my very first big band chart.

Right now I only have about 7 bars drafted. I’d love some feedback on:

• Whether the harmony is too dense/heavy
• Suggestions on how I could continue/develop the idea
• How to write good solos for each section
• Advice on writing the drum/rhythm section (I really like Buddy Rich’s way of driving a big band, but I don’t play percussion, so I’m not sure how to make it authentic beyond the usual ride cymbal + side stick)
