Alas, Babylon. Set in Florida back in the 50s, one of the first in the genre.

Lights Out by David Crawford is there with One Second After. There are a million and one post-apocalyptic books but few focus on the community, relationships, and struggles without going overboard.

The Jakarta Pandemic series is another. By Steve Konkoly. I only read book 1 and I loved it. It’s a COVID-type disaster written long before COVID.

Lucifer’s Hammer was my first foray into survivalist fiction. It’s still one of the greatest stories ever. Play: A comet hits earth and multiple groups of survivors in California need to band together.

William Forstchen’s “One Second After” series is very good and brings a lot of commonalities between itself and Jericho.
