Having visited the UK, America has WAY better beer, not even close. You’re just stuck on the Budweiser circle jerk but there are an insane number of craft breweries here. I live in a small town in Florida and there are 4 breweries within walking distance of each other

Not sure when you visited the UK, but the craft beer scene has massively caught up with the US in the past 10 years.

But the US beer trope is pretty old considering how terrible our own macro beer is.

Was around 2011. Literally couldn’t find an IPA to save my life. I was mainly in Manchester, admittedly.

Also, just looked up some actual data and it does seem the UK is catching up, but the US still has over 5x the number of craft breweries. 4000 in US to 723 in the UK

Yeah the craft scene was pretty small in 2011 outside of a few breweries. There would have been IPAs around but on cask rather than keg. Probably started to kicked off around 2015 properly, the population of USA is 5 times bigger than the UK so it's pretty much the same per person.

Ironically, Manchester and the surrounding areas have some of the best craft breweries in the UK.

Check out Track and Cloudwater, maybe a 5 min walk from each other and both do some really nice hazy pales
