Really unfortunate wording choice.

When I ask my wife why she loves me, she lists a bunch of stuff where I think "wow, the bar really is so low"

I'd guess when and if she asked you that same question she'd feel the same about your answers

Yeh, feel that.. but I've also been on the side where I'm simultaneously 'the best guy ever, so amazing' and they end things. It doesn't really matter ultimately, alot of people choose who they think they deserve and it's not always good.

IIRC, this is toward the beginning of the comic? And at that point, he's just being realistic.

Scott's right, tho. I've read the comics and I've seen the movie. Scott is not a good dude. Yeah, his character is likable, but he's not a good person. Still live the series, and if you haven't played the game, you should definitely check it out.

Like cheating on his 17 year old girlfriend

Exactly. I think people see the story as an isolated series of events. Like everything was normal before Ramona and her baggage made everything wacky, but that's not true. We see flashbacks and learn details through dialog that this is just who Scott is on a fundamental level. He's a scumbag, a very likable scumbag, but still a scumbag.

What's crazy is this is girl-speak for "fifteen minutes of this and I'll want to sit on it...".

Everyone values different things in a partner. What might seem like a "low bar" to you could actually be rare and meaningful to someone else. We all have our own version of what matters most. If someone treasures you, that’s definitely something to be proud of.
