Discussion $1250 Room For Rent

Welcome to Kamloops - check out this forlorn room for rent for $1250. Note the door crudely mounted in a frame that’s open to the ceiling. It has a TV that’s 6 feet off the ground & perched on a plywood shelf. Most of the furniture is homemade poorly. Metal folding chairs in the ‘kitchen’. Grim, grim times await whoever is desperate enough to rent it.

I am honestly tired of these overprice rent that make no sense

Has a disabled person trying to find an affordable rent, I am bloody tired of Kamloops overpricing rent for no bloody reason. It feel like we need a law to stop this from happening has it just reach the point of using other.

That make sense, still doesn’t justify the bloody listing and how Kamloops shouldn’t be this overprice

I am tired of people saying “ just get roommates”, when in reality people should be fighting for affordability and not extreme rent. An example is I live with my family because I can’t afford to live on just disability, I have issues walking and doing other stuff.

Disability is like 1480 dollar per month, there no way an average person can live on that. Clarify I have gotten a job in the past, but it still very hard for me to carry that job because how sickly I am.

Until "the city" adds more. It's not the job of the city of Kamloops to build housing. People already complain about taxes being SO high and don't want to pay a penny more. We have to pay for sewer, roads and the like, there is no way the city is going to also start charging taxpayers to build housing for non taxpayers.
