Politics Observation 48 hours before election day

Is it just me or others have notice the trend that all the social media (including redditt), and all the tv station there is such a big liberal presence and supporting the liberals, but when talking/overhearing conversation in coffee shops, parks, workplaces etc its overwhelming the support for the conservatives.

Feels like there is two reality around me, one that lives in my cell phone screen and the other out and about.

Guess it depends on what your social silo is.  I don't hear anyone talking about PP positively even among former conservative voters.  In my experience when it comes to politics it's always a handful that are very loud while most quietly nod and stay out of the conversation.

I've got a more than a few people in my circle that are talking about voting conservators, and yeah... funny thing is they don't have much to say about PP or even the Conservatives, just all the things they hate about they Liberals.

To be fair, many of their gripes are legitimate, but so are the complaints about the Democratic party in USA and well.

It's one thing to say "this sucks and needs to change", but people need to look at whether the change they're pushing towards would actually be positive or not.

Canada - like many nations - needs better political choices, but if we choose for the wrong reasons we don't get to just take it back and the future options can be even more grim

Sadly so many people don’t really understand the parliamentary system - of course each party has its own underlying precepts, foundational views, but it’s also true and important that governments are more largely defined by the leader of the day.

A PP Conservative government would not be a Brian Mulroney Conservative government or even a Stephen Harper Conservative government.

A Mark Carney Liberal government would not be a Justin Trudeau Liberal government or a Jean Chrétien government.

The point is that in our system the leader plays a huge role, a defining role, in government behaviour.

Saying “I can’t vote for the liberals because of Trudeau” is just as silly as saying “I’m voting for PP because I liked Stephen Harper.”

Yeah there's a reason they called it "The Harper government" and "The Trudeau Liberals" etc

They officially changed their name from "Government of Canada" to "The Harper Government" which is the reason why they called it that.
