Does anyone feel like this anime is getting forgot?

Maybe all animes and Vn made by key, idk it is true but it just feels like that to me. In fact, i think most of these games are underrated imho and feeling like these games will be forgot and have already forgotten makes me pretty sad ngl.

Ig this game made me a bit nihilist or something eventhough i really love all of VN games made by maeda lmao

The visual novel got an (official) English release just last year, so there's been some resurgence in interest there.

But realistically, the anime is from 2006 (and the 2002 one before that) and a lot of the more core VN community would've already played the VN from the fan translation years ago.

That it gets brought up at all, still has a decent amount of fanart popping up, occasional new merch, and so on is pretty good after all this time.

I actually just watched Kanon this year and it was the best Key anime I have seen.

If you think this is getting forgot have your heard of Clannad and Clannad: Afterstory? Or what about Air?

Time wipes out all things, if something isn't brought back into the limelight regularly. It's why I made a Youtube video channel showing old AMVs.

VicBond007 made two Kanon AMVs 20+ years ago, so....yeah.....

There's a deluge of highly-rated anime every season and it's rare the new generation has time to go back and watch older shows, even if they are by top animation studios. The fan community will probably never be like it was at first release. But as long as there are people who love the shows they will always have fans and they never disappear or go away. In a way it can be nice to have something to ourselves that we love that not everybody knows about, it's kinda like being a fan of an underground musician that has a cult following.

Yeah. Even if time goes on, there'll always be old-time Kanon fans like everyone here that remember the series in their heart and how it influenced/affected them even if it's not the main discussion in their current lives or in the anime world.

I think it's less that it has been forgotten and more that it has just aged out of being a quintessential part of anime culture. It isn't the kind of thing you are going to see a lot of fan works around at cons, but I've met a few big fans of it and other Key works over the past few years and they're incredibly passionate. I do wish that the other Key works got acknowledged as much as Clannad, but Kanon still has its defenders.
