So.. that happened.. let's talk about legal bestiality in West Virginia.
10
u/parkerm1408 Jul 27 '25
Did you say....legal?? I knew west Virginia was fucked up but holy shit....
7
u/DaddysABadGirl Jul 28 '25
Aaaaand Google just said there have been attempts to pass legislation banning it.... attempts. So there have been multiple bills before West Virginian state congress and they just said no????
2
u/Majestic_Rutabaga_79 Jul 28 '25
Was likely (hopefully) more about verbage and punishments rather than objection to banning it. Dear god west Virginia please don't let me be wrong

u/DaddysABadGirl Jul 28 '25
I started looking up the reasons and got articles and papers asking why beastiality should be illegal at all. I dont like the world right now....
There isn't much to find. One bill didnt make it past the committee stage, the other was voted down.
From the description of the one voted down:
Misdemeanor Offense: Violations can result in a jail sentence of up to 12 months and/or fines between $300 and $2,000.
Felony Offense: A felony charge applies if the offender has a prior conviction, causes serious bodily injury or death to the animal, or commits the act in the presence of a minor. Felony penalties include imprisonment for 1 to 5 years, fines of $1,000 to $5,000, or both.
Mandatory Actions: Conviction can lead to relinquishing all animals in the person's possession, mandatory psychological evaluations and counseling, and restrictions on owning or residing with animals for a specified period.
Exemptions: The bill includes exemptions for accepted veterinary procedures, animal husbandry practices, and accepted practices related to breed conformation judging, as well as affection towards a pet in a non-sexual manner according to the Brooks Institute. Commercial Purpose: Engaging in or promoting sexual conduct with an animal for commercial or recreational purposes is also prohibited.

Wasn't west Virginia the one that tried to run through a child marriage with parental consent bill awhile back? We need to shut that whole place down
2
u/DaddysABadGirl Jul 28 '25
I'm surprised they don't have it, a few states do. Shit, California under 16 or 15 is allowed so long as the parents can get a judge to sign off on it.
3
u/parkerm1408 Jul 28 '25
When do we get to the "burn it down and start from scratch," phase?
2
u/DaddysABadGirl Jul 28 '25
Based on how widespread that issue is?? Gonna need nukes. Scorch the planet.
2
u/erikkustrife Jul 30 '25
All of America accepts marriages to children so long as you get the proper paperwork. Hell missouris kinda a cesspit for this as you can't marry a child anymore under the age of 16 even with parental consent as of this year, you can however get one pregnant, thus becoming a legal adult in missouri for the purposes of marriage and everything's fine then.

It’s because of dairy farming. It’s nigh impossible to make a sweeping ban on acts of bestiality that doesn’t also ban the necessary steps to impregnate a cow and take the milk.
1
u/parkerm1408 Jul 29 '25
That actually does make sense, but they should still take the time to figure that out. I used to do contract work for Tyson, picking up bull calves from dairies and driving them out to muleshoe. Lasted 6 months before I quit, Tyson can go fuck itself.
1
u/toothgolem Jul 29 '25
It’s not a time thing, my understanding is that they’ve repeatedly tried and failed. It’s legit fully incompatible with the practice of dairy farming. Most feasible scenario they make exceptions for milk producing animals like sheep, goats, and cows, but then…. I mean people could still fuck the sheep :/

As a wv resident we have a lot of defunct laws that we haven’t changed just be a use we don’t need to. For example:
not being able to hold office if you ever dueled , being allowed to beat your wife on Sunday on the courthouse steps, the state swear jar, (city law) not being able to walk a lion, tiger, or leopard, (specifically even on a leash), and legally eating roadkill (granted this one still has use) unfortunately)
These are examples of dead letter laws which while technically still active are rarely ever used in serious legal proceedings.
The “legal bestiality” is technically a thing, something about animals over 40 lbs for whatever reason, but we have conflicting animal protection laws that I’d imagine would keep those cases from happening. Some legislation has been done recently to actually make it illegal officially, but it’s kind of in limbo right now.
While looking up some of the information for this is surprised me how recent many states outlawed bestiality, heck New Mexico and dc only officially did it in 2023.

There was a law proposed in Louisiana that would have outlawed beastiality but also affirmed that gay sex would be legal. Republicans
unanimouslyvoted against the measure....Edit:
Youre correct, I was misremembering it. The law did pass and it was only 10 repu license who voted against it:

How do the two even come into the same law?? Also I looked it up and it passed. Out of 35 voters only 10 voted against it. Do you have any proof of what you're saying?? This was in 2018.

And people wonder why aliens wouldn't want to make contact with us
2
u/Majestic_Rutabaga_79 Jul 28 '25
Bold of you to assume they didn't make us this way; probing fuckers /j

"I hope the aliens are real, so I have more things to fuck."

1
u/Alert_Green_3646 Jul 29 '25
No, they don't want to come here because we are primitive and stupid compared to a species that can travel great distances in space

u/Theunkgamer Jul 27 '25
Surely people can’t be down that bad for an ass right?

u/taco_taker_of_souls Jul 28 '25
You clever bastard.

u/betterupsetter Jul 28 '25
This is already 8 year old "news". I also only have found it primarily reported through tabloids, so it seems suspect at best.

Fucking 7, to fucking 15, that's not even legal age in most countries I don't think. At least not in the UK where Mirror news is from.
3
u/Stunning-Humor-3074 Jul 28 '25
The reported incident occurred in 2017, Morocco
2
u/Budget_Conclusion598 Jul 28 '25
Ah, I assumed it was in the UK because that's where Mirror news is from, although, the legal age in Morocco is still 18 so

u/Flextapelol Jul 27 '25

No but I've seen rabies and it's fucking terrifying to see, even in early stages. It's genuinely disturbing and sad. I think it was pretty obvious I was referencing rabies being apparent.
3
u/tokidema Jul 26 '25
At least they learn their lesson
4
u/xbox_guy826 Jul 27 '25
You sure? It takes such an unhinged level of stupidity to do this i doubt the older ones have the ability to learn.
2
u/Celestial_Hart Jul 29 '25
No they didn't. People like this don't learn, they don't change, they will just rape women next time.
