Hard call. If you do this there’s a good chance you’re being fired for a reason but if you’ve just been fired after setting that up - and they knew they were going to fire you when they made you set this up - then yeah fuck them honestly.
It really is a tough call because I’ve had employers metaphorically fuck me like this.
Were there work days where you did not have to commute an hour each way to get there? Like you worked remotely other days and so they could have fired you on those days instead?
Granted, most places like to terminate employment in person because a text or a phone call is insanely unprofessional.
nope, it was a factory job doing manual labor. I was young and naive, i got hired to pack boxes for $11/hr. eventually, the dude who made way more than me doing all the shipping and receiving had to take extended leave for surgery. so they say they're going to train me up to do his job. I get a 10% raise for all this, with way more responsibility. i still believe that loyalty and hard work for an employer will be rewarded, so i do it. easy to see where this goes.
what's worse is that it was the Monday after payday, so had i known i was getting fired, i would not have spent that weekend the same way as the others when I was 21.
