When I was the head chef of a commissary, I would frequently shout, "This is my BOOMSTICK" ala Army of Darkness. It eventually became the name for the immersion blender, to the extent that I had written it into the recipes ("blend with boomstick until smooth, pass through fine sieve..." etc).
I haven't worked there in over 5 years, but I feel confident that they still refer to it as a Boomstick.

When I started at the pizzeria I used to work at, they had a grinder attachment for the giant Hobart mixer, and used that to blitz tomatoes for sauce.
Do you know how long it takes to feed 250 lbs of San Marzanos through a sausage grinder attachment with a 3" diameter? Because I do.
The day they bought the giant RoboCoup immersion blender, I cried tears of joy.

I was training a new guy and had to step away after showing him how to prep a sauce that needed a bunch of grilled veg and shit
Im like I'll be right back but there are immersion blenders in the back -- get this as smooth as you can but some chunks are okay. No need to do it through the vitamix or strain or anything
I came back 30 minutes later and he's using the handheld immersion for 20+ quarts of liquid. I managed to not laugh and walked him back over
"use the big guy! That'll be a lot quicker"
"The smaller ones give more control. This choice was intentional"
"... Okay in that case I'm telling you to please use the big one! Thanks"

Damn I had this exact photo of myself back from the early days of covid with a bandana over my face. I wonder if I still have it somewhere
