gag queen thoughts

hi guys, happy pride first off!! the entire weekend was amazing and i had the best time living it up at all of the tabling and festivals. i just had to come on here and rant because i had a BAD experience at gag queen.

the show was advertised as a spectacular of drag queens and dancing all evening, but drag took up only 1 hour of the 4 hour showtime (if that!). the music was not good, as the dj sets would play random beats over and over without a song. it just felt like it was taking advantage of a lot of young queer people who wanted to come together, and i found myself pretty miserable standing waiting for the main headliners, who performed 10 and 5 minutes of drag each. i felt like $35 down the drain, months of buildup wasted, and a big rip off for the gays.

again, raleigh pride was INCREDIBLE! the tabling and live shows were unbelievable. i am just curious if anyone else felt this way about the show tonight at the ritz.

Retweet, repost, super badge, all of it. You are TOTALLY correct. I have soooo many thoughts on how this should have gone (and why it went the way it did...) In the end, I just felt old and cranky and had no patience for the childish antics around me. (More later if I can)

so validating. i felt the exact same way (even tho i am 21...). i felt bad for being in a sour mood by the end of it but realized it was months of anticipation and then a huge let down. curious to hear more thoughts if you want to share!
