Is the drag show at flex the right place for me?
This feels like a weird question to ask, but with some of the posts I’ve seen about legends lately, I wanted to at least ask the community for some opinions.
I’m a 41 year old male that has been starting to question my gender and sexual identity. I’ve gone out in public in a few places in my feminine mode and am thinking about trying to push through some of my barriers.
I saw that flex has an early drag show tonight.
I was hoping to go tomorrow but am not doing hopscotch and am thinking downtown might be nuts, so i was thinking about going out tonight.
I’m a pretty shy, nervous person when I’m dressed up. I will very much be a guy in women’s clothes and a wig on.
I’m mostly wondering if the drag show at flex is going to be a safe, friendly place for someone like me to be. I’ll be solo, which isn’t going to help my confidence.
Are there any other, better options for me than flex tonight or tomorrow? Willing to go to Durham or some other place if it means I find a queer friendly crowd.
Thank you!!
