Question respecting second yellow

Hi,

  1. If someone gets a yellow when he is still sitting on the bench before getting subbed on, and gets another yellow when he has been subbed on, does that equal a red card?
  2. What if he is a player-manager and the first yellow was received in a managerial capacity?

Thanks.

Yes to both, a yellow card is a yellow card, no matter the context, a manager can get two yellow cards as well and it'll be a red card also

  1. They would be sent off for two yellows, my question is has this ever once happened.

Does anyone have any example of a player getting a yellow and then later a straight red without the second yellow? I know its possible but can't think of any examples.

Yes it happens all the time, it happened this weekend. I can't remember who it happened to but it was a fairly prominent game, there was a post in arrr soccer where the title was wrong (it said second yellow when it was actually a straight red)

It matters for the suspension

Yep, especially with straight reds where the refs report / interpretation is taken in to account for the suspension

I’ve seen and heard it. Happened at a MLS (i know shame) game (I think, might have been USL) i went to years ago and i remember it because it was two stupid fouls. Player tried a sliding tackle, clipped the ankle. Got a caution. About 10 minutes later, he does the same damn tackle just outside the box with attacker 1-on-1 with the keeper. DOGSO, red.
