I think special anime moves ruin the magic of ATLA.
But more importantly, it probably wouldn't work. Bloodbenders don't typically bend themselves--even though technically they should be able to fly. So bending elements within the body isn't something that people can typically do and even more to that regard, people generally don't bend themselves.
Also, I don't typically think that the same principle would apply. To a large extent, bending the lightning in your body just to move and react quicker would probably take more effort than normal benders can muster--especially if you have to balance that with fighting.
Furthermore, it really wouldn't balance anything--the elements are already balanced, but if anyone needs access to other forms of bending it's airbenders.
There's nothing about airbenders besides "spirituality" that would mean they are more easily able to astral project.
Anyone should be able to astral project based on spirituality, not bending prowess. Even Non-benders should be able to astral project, one of the most spiritual people in the entire show was a non-bender and you're telling me he can't astral project just because he wasn't an airbender?
