I hope the showrunners include one of my favorite scenes from the animated series.
The well-known among fans haiku battle for which Sokka found himself stumbling upon. I'm not sure how many fans have counted along with the syllables at the end when he says a haiku that gets him kicked out.
That's right, I'm Sokka. (5)
It's pronounced with an 'okka. (7)'
Young ladies, I rock ya! (5)
This tells me that Sokka wasn't kicked out because he violated a rule. He was kicked out because he upstaged everybody and they didn't like that.
Also, feel free to correct me on the syllable count if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he was well within the rules of the contest.
Considering how the live action adaption has also taken some creative liberties to add more onto the story. I hope the showrunners not only include this comedic scene, but add a quick follow-up scene to where Sokka realizes that he was right and that in a bizarre circumstance, he came out on top a winner.
