Yank ownership is always a worrying development. Hoping for the best for Bray

Hopefully they're good, the statement hasn't got many details about them. A quick Google though seems to suggest they're an American group based in Boston called Pinebrook.

It would be much better if it was the oligarchs. It's the nobodies that buy LOI clubs.

What do they expect to get out of it?

Wonder what a bunch of property investors bought Bray for.....

Well, they only lease the ground from the wicklow league as far as I'm aware, so I can't do a bait and switch too easily, i would imagine.

Americans in general seem to believe that Europe extracts less value out of sport than they do

Probably a couple of things they could be looking at with Bray

  1. Build up the club to a higher valuation and sell on
  2. Outlet for bringing in players from the states or elsewhere for gametime before selling on
  3. A cog in a proposed multi club system

The other one which is probably less likely imo is a play for real estate which is common in the American lower leagues as they get tax breaks and subsidises for building stadiums and by extension the housing or whatever it they mainly wanted to build

They're looking to make an MLS club in Arizona so they do probably have half an eye on a multi club job. But they're also not involved presently in any other clubs to be a multi club. They probably just think it's a cheap way to dip the toe in the market

Yanks investing in a North Korean side? I’ve seen it all now.
