Question ❓ Spicy sapphic fantasy novels.

I'm talking about magic, dragons, knights, princesses, castles, etc.

Some books that I've loved are: 'Pirates of aletharia', 'Digging for Destiny', and 'Legends and Lattes'. Some examples of non sapphic fantasy that I love are: the broketail series, the enchanted forest chronicles, farseer trilogy, discworld, and the council wars series.

I have a tbr ljust longer than my arm (sapphic and non), but I'm always looking for more. What are your recs?

everyone always raves about priory of the orange tree but I admittedly couldn't get into it, so I'm not sure how spicy it is tbh. but I am also interested in this topic for Reasons :eyes::eyes:

I loved it. There wasn't as much spice as pirates of aletharia or digging for destiny, but since I love books like Priory and the broketail series, I loved it.

see, everybody says this and I feel left out, lol. I'll have to give it another try.

I read about 20 pages at a time until I got to about page 250. I then read about 300 pages in the next sitting. The next day, I read from page 508 to the end of the book.

Do you have a good autiobook recommendation (if there's more than one narrator)? I do a lot of my reading that way these days, either commuting to work or putting my kids down for bed; maybe I'll give that a try?

I do not. I read the paper back version (could double as a door stop)

Well you've nonetheless inspired me to give it another try anyways, so, thanks! And for a thread full of other book recs!

Dragon Queens by Kathleen de Plume.

It's a bit light on the dragons though.

Recently read Of Thorns and Wings and the sequel, Of Dreams and Poison by Darva Green. Sapphic, dragons, magic, spice… I really enjoyed them!

No Shelter But the Stars by Virginia Black is more sci-fi but I loved this one. Set in space, enemies crash on an abandoned planet

You may like my vampire/human books! 🫶 A Curse Bright and Breathing has more magic in it than Hunger—they can be read as standalones or in order ❤️

Also, The Woman From the Waves is fantastic!

These are already on my tbr list. Now I can't wait to get to them!

Roots of Chaos, Samantha Shannon

Very long and has all the mentioned but so worth it

I've read Priory (and loved it). Did you read 'a day of fallen night' and 'among the burning flowers'? Should I read them as well?

Yes I've read fallen night and loved it as well. It's slightly different in its narrative, and you get three ships instead of one

Burning flowers is on my desk now waiting to be read

I just finished The Queen and the Heiress series by Elle Mae, features main characters with inherited powers from the gods. We have similar taste in books, I think you’d like it!

Yes, both books are on my tbr list already. Definitely the same wavelength.

Emily Noon's Aurora's Angel might be right up your alley.

Thank you for recommending that. It's already on my tbr list, but I admit I wasn't sure.

It is far too long, and the dialogue is terrible. Apparently the audiobook is reasonable, though.
