Discussion Emily Hayes - so many books?

Hi, so probably like most of you I have a setting for sapphic and lesbian authors I know to watch in case something comes up to read. And I’m always surprised how much Emily cranks out. Some are short. Are all or any of them good? That volume begs the quality of the plot and even the writing is generic. But tell me if I am wrong.

I never want to diss anyone's hard work but since you asked if they're worth a read or not I'll just very quickly say that I would skip them if I were you, imo of course.

I’ve been wondering for a while whether or not she’s another Sabrina Kane. I’m not convinced her author photo is legit but I’d be very happy to be proved wrong!

It faces one way in some places and the opposite direction in others. I would think a real person would have taken more care. I also looked at their Instagram and unlike other authors I follow on IG, there are no pics of the author - it's all just adverts for the books.

I get pseudo names and such but there is something odd here. The volume suggest Ai too

I've read a few of her books but don't do so anymore. The last one I've read skipped all of the important relationship development. They're starting to become friends in one chapter, and in the next they're like super good friends and falling in love with each other. How did that happen? It's not instant love—the development just wasn't written. It felt like I was reading a book that was missing its second quarter.

Don't really remember if that's the exact same scenario in the other books of hers that made me stop reading (I tend to give authors multiple chances and that last book was just the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back) but I do remember feeling like there was always something missing.

I’ve been wondering the same lately. So many of her books showed up recently in my audiobook app it’s crazy.

It looks like most of them are novellas. I’m not sure how quickly she releases them, but in my experience, you can write a novel in a month if you’re writing full-time and are focused. Then the editing might take another month. Depends how polished you want it. I can’t speak to the quality of her writing, but from the synopses, it seems her stories follow genre conventions so should be fairly simple to pop out.

If you have the Kindle sub they are an okay read, wouldnt spend money otherwise on them.

I feel like it is a spaghetti wall situation that she is working. Volume over quality. But I’m so surprised the narrators she gets and pays for.
