Looking for the title of the book
I remember the story starts with the two main women having a one-night stand. Later they meet again at a wedding. One woman is the mother of the groom. The other is the bride’s mother’s sister (so, the bride’s aunt). The aunt is poor, while her sister (the bride’s mother) is wealthy and dislikes her. The setting is a city. I’m pretty sure I saw it on Goodreads and it seemed like a popular/famous book.

Was it a good book? I'm intrigued by the premise!

I’ve read about 40% of the book so far, and it’s been very good. There’s plenty of angst, and one of the main characters hasn’t come out yet, so their relationship is full of ups and downs.

I enjoyed it. Important parts of the premise are that the aunt is also newly released from prison and estranged from her half-sister, and the mother is also not out to her children. Both MCs are middle-aged (like late 40s/50s iirc)

Could it be Embracing the Dawn by Jeannie Levig?
