Loud drone Centretown?

Update edit: helicopter not a drone—confirmed as the Ornge Air going from North Bay Regional Health Centre to the Ottawa Hospital. Just seemed smaller but the noise makes sense and confirmed using flight radar website.

Just before 1:00am, loud drone (confirmed as helicopter C-GYNZ and not a drone) went up Gloucester. Anyone hear and then see it?

I heard it too. It felt like a leftover from Charles' visit; helicopterish.

Possibly Orange Air (medical chopper); they've been flying tonight. I'm near the airport and they pass over my house often and it does tend to be very loud.

You were right! I confirmed it as the medical chopper on flightradar24. Thanks you so much for posting. The noise level made sense — just seemed smaller and more drone like to me when I peeked through the blinds.

I'm glad you figured it out! They can be surprisingly loud sometimes, to the point where I can recognize them now by their volume. I heard them coming back to base that night not long after you posted.

Edit: now confirmed as the Ornge Air medical helicopter. I saw it pause/hover in place for a bit very much like a drone but it was noisy. It definitely had red and green lights. I was expecting to see a helicopter when I looked and to me, looked drone-like.
