Read your parking fines before paying

I just saw someone putting their parking ticket to the windshield of the car behind theirs. The car behind was also violating the parking rule so if they don’t verify the plate in the ticket, they will just pay the other persons fine.

I recieved a fine via mail for false parking, turns out it was a car I rented and the agency confused me with the wrong guy.

Someone did this once to my grandfather. He only noticed after payment. He contacted the police and to get the money back he needed file a charge.

The one I saw was something like 145(maybe 165?), disabled spot. I doubt they’re gonna let that slip

they are not issue by the police.. a policeman i play football with explained. police make handwritten tickets. those put on windshields are issued by municipal agents. they have the police logo on the ticket but that is it.

There is no enforcement for parking violations if you stay below 75€ (since the costs would just be disproportionate) and they expire after a year so you just need to watch your running total

What about the fines/penatly you get for not paying the first one? Is that amount just to be added until you reach 75€?

Quite frankly, I don't know since it has never come up. I usually get one "rappel" and after that, nothing else ever happened over the years

bruh if something like this happens to me I will go above and beyond based on number plate to hunt the bastard down and them to regret their brilliancy quite quick, this briliance just needs not to piss of the right person ;)
