Troll post. Reply at your own risk. Read your parking fines before paying

I just saw someone putting their parking ticket to the windshield of the car behind theirs. The car behind was also violating the parking rule so if they don’t verify the plate in the ticket, they will just pay the other persons fine.

Joke's on them, I don't pay my tickets, I just wait for them to lapse after a year

What? Does this genuinely happen? Even if issued by the police?

There is no enforcement for parking violations if you stay below 75€ (since the costs would just be disproportionate) and they expire after a year so you just need to watch your running total

What about the fines/penatly you get for not paying the first one? Is that amount just to be added until you reach 75€?

Quite frankly, I don't know since it has never come up. I usually get one "rappel" and after that, nothing else ever happened over the years

Thanks for the info. I'm usually pretty good at paying for parking anyway but if the app stops working, as is often the case, I'll just ignore the ticket

Thanks for the info.

You're welcome, I only found out through friends working for the police
