Do you guys see a universe where he’s able to improve enough for a competitive rematch? Or is he kind of just going to have to chill as the near #1 contender and hope someone else beat khamzat

Because that fight showed an ocean of a skill gap when it comes to grappling

Given how beatable Khamzat is on the feet, I do. Dricus only needs to be able to keep it on the feet a couple of minutes total and he could finish Khamzat. And we learned from Arman that Khamzat wanted to strike with DDP, so it's not impossible that he'll even let DDP stand more than he should just for funsies, which is likely a terrible mistake

The problem is that no one except world class grapplers has shown any ability to keep it on the feet vs Khamzat. You may as well just throw a flying knee at this point.

Just saying: when Strickland got knocked out by Poatan, it seems he took initiative to train with him and learn from him. Eventually resulting in one of the biggest upsets in recent UFC history when he beat Izzy. Why couldn’t DDP do something similar? I do believe he’d do better joining a BJJ gym than going to Dagestan for 2-3 years and get forgotten.

"how beatable Khamzat is on the feet"? this is because of the last minute of the 5th round, where Diddy P got a free stand-up from his secret boyfriend referee? πŸ€”πŸ€” in all of Khamzat's fights, did anyone even come close to "beating him on the feet"?

Watch the Burns and the Usman fight and pay close attention to Khamzat's striking defense. It is pretty much nonexistent. That makes him very beatable on the feet, and indeed it was flashes of that we saw in fifth round in the DDP fight as well after the horrendous standups.

even if your statement is true, those are just 2 fights. also, both fighters were not even close to knocking Khamzat out on the feet. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Another cringe muslim "fan" who only started watching MMA last week because of a muslim fighter πŸ˜† Gilbert Burns was fucking him up on the feet and his main discipline wasn't even any striking art but BJJ.

i'm not Muslim, i am indeed a fan, and i have probably watched MMA longer than you have, but definitely did not start just last week. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ what is clear though is that you're a salty coping Diddy P fan who's not gonna get kissed on the lips despite your efforts, that's reserved for his boyfriends Morne Kisser, Marc Goddard, and the "MMA" "Guru". 😘😘

He doesn't necessarily need to completely close the wrestling or grappling gap, or even get close.Β  He likely just needs to give himself more opportunities and make Khamzat work more.Β  Of course, even that is easier said than done, but people are wrong thinking he needs to become as good of a wrestler as Khmzat.

Definitely can. He showed ability to escape and scramble at times in the 5th. It's a lot due to his high guard that Khamzat can get so deep. Khamzat ragdolls everyone in the ground but he never ever likes full guard kind of positions. I've heard a rumour he was arm barred in a gym in Sweden years years ago and had got serious damage, which is why as soon as Burns attempted one Khamzat backed out. All dricus needed was a better ability of breaking the body lock and doing better at bring his guard back when in side control.

The only time he managed to escape and scramble is when the ref gifted him bullshit standups.

Yes Dricus only needs to "bring his guard back in side control" even though Khamzat just sliced through his guard without effort and it wasn't even a factor in the fight. Fighting sounds so simple when it's delusional fanboys talking about it.

No dummie, a lot more intricate details in grappling but keeping it simple. I train too bro

We can go way way further into details into exactly what Khamzat does vs Dricus vs all the other opponents

Bro he had no idea what to do against Khamzat, like litterally none.
